VietinBank is the "Outstanding Bank for Green Credit" for 2 consecutive years

The Outstanding Bank Award for Green Credit is part of the Vietnam Outstanding Bank Award 2025. This is an annual award, organized by IDG Vietnam in collaboration with the Vietnam Banking Association over many years to evaluate the quality of typical Banking/Fintech services through user surveys and profile evaluation from the Award Voting Council consisting of representatives from Government agencies, Ministries, Industries, Associations and experts in the fields of finance - Banking and technology.

Actively promoting funding solutions for sustainable development, VietinBank was voted as a typical bank for green credit in 2025.

VietinBank, with its strategic orientation in promoting financing solutions for sustainable development, has been voted as the Outstanding Bank for Green Credit 2025, marking two consecutive years that the Bank has been honored in this category. The award continues to affirm VietinBank's pioneering role in realizing the policies of the Government and the State Bank on promoting green credit, towards sustainable development.

Specifically, VietinBank has built a Sustainable Finance Framework according to international standards set by ICMA, LMA, APLMA and is rated as “reliable and impactful” by Morningstar Sustainalytics - the world's leading organization in ESG research and ratings. This is an important foundation for VietinBank to deploy green financial products and services in a unified and synchronous manner.

At the same time, the Bank also develops specialized products and services to promote green economy and circular economy such as: financing renewable energy projects, rooftop solar power, waste-to-energy combined treatment, green buildings, green exports, electric vehicle charging stations, green deposit products... By the end of the second quarter of 2025, VietinBank's green credit balance increased by 17% compared to the end of 2024, along with the sustainable development activities of nearly 1,000 enterprises of different sizes and industries.

This is the second consecutive year the Bank has been honored with this prestigious award.

Currently, VietinBank is promoting the implementation of a number of green credit packages such as the Green UP package with a scale of 5,000 billion VND, financing projects that benefit the environment, community and society; the V-Green Power UP credit package with a scale of 4,000 billion VND to provide capital for investors of V-Green green charging stations... Thereby, VietinBank wishes to accompany the business community in implementing the National Green Transformation Strategy, production and business associated with environmental protection.

Being honored by IDG as “Outstanding Bank for Green Credit” for two consecutive years is not only a recognition of VietinBank’s persistent efforts but also affirms its position as a leading state-owned commercial bank in the journey of creating sustainable values, accompanying businesses and the community, for a greener future for Vietnam.
