Conference on connecting OCOP products with commercial systems

On September 26, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment coordinated with the People's Committee of An Giang province to organize a conference to connect trade of OCOP products in the Mekong Delta with trade systems nationwide. Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Environment Tran Thanh Nam and Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of An Giang province Ngo Cong Thuc co-chaired the conference.

Accordingly, the delegates presented the following contents: Improving quality, standardizing processes and developing sustainable markets for OCOP products; some issues on branding and intellectual property for OCOP products; experience in connecting and consuming OCOP products; organizing business connections between OCOP entities with Central Retail Group, Tu Son Supermarket, MM Mega Market...

Vice Chairman of An Giang Provincial People's Committee Ngo Cong Thuc delivered the opening speech at the conference.

Speaking at the conference, Vice Chairman of An Giang Provincial People's Committee Ngo Cong Thuc said that the OCOP Program in An Giang has achieved many important results. The whole province has 582 OCOP-recognized products of 324 entities. An Giang OCOP products have been constantly improved in design and packaging, ensuring quality and food safety, gradually affirming their reputation in the market.

Therefore, the conference will help local OCOP products expand their consumption markets, improve their competitiveness; create conditions for businesses, cooperatives, and OCOP entities to participate more deeply in the global value chain, contributing to promoting the image, culture, and people of An Giang to domestic and foreign friends.

Concluding the conference, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Environment Tran Thanh Nam emphasized that the promotion and connection of OCOP product consumption in the Mekong Delta has changed positively and requested entities and businesses to continue to improve the quality of OCOP products, improve designs and packaging quality, and better meet customer tastes.

Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Environment Tran Thanh Nam requested specialized sectors and localities to support businesses and entities in building raw material areas to produce OCOP products. Develop mechanisms and policies to support and encourage the development of OCOP product quality management.

Pay attention to supporting and encouraging OCOP subjects who are women, ethnic minorities, and people with disabilities. Always ensure the social responsibility of the subjects to protect the products that crystallize from the culture and passion of many generations, helping OCOP products develop sustainably.

Deputy Minister Tran Thanh Nam also suggested the need to form an association representing OCOP entities to connect commercially and ensure product reputation. The State will, through the association, provide policy support to OCOP entities to increase the effectiveness of the One Commune One Product Program in the locality...
