Continuing the traditional profession

Pharmacist Vu Quang Chinh recounted that in 2018, with a 100 million VND bank loan, he converted 5,000 m² of garden land into a farm raising Boer goats imported from South Africa. The barn was built airy, clean, taking advantage of natural light and wind. In particular, biological bedding was applied to process into organic fertilizer to care for grass and various plants on the farm. And from by-products of plants, grass combined with concentrated feed to meet optimal nutrition for the goat herd, forming a closed cycle of "goat - manure - grass - goat".

“At that time, I had graduated as a pharmacist and had many job opportunities in big cities in the South, but I chose to return to my hometown in the Bao Loc plateau to start a business, applying new science and technology to develop my parents' traditional goat farming profession in a more modern, effective and sustainable direction...”, Mr. Chinh confided. As a result, after only a few years of starting the business, Mr. Chinh's herd of domesticated Boer goats had grown to 400 - 500, selling about 50 tons of meat each year, bringing in revenue of more than 2 billion VND and profit of over 1 billion VND.

Comparing from 2020 to 2025, pharmacist Vu Quang Chinh researched and practiced solutions for raising Boer goats and circular farming, bringing revenue, profit and investment in expanding scale to increase more than 10 times. At the same time, he developed 3 hectares of high-yield coffee and 1 hectare of mangosteen, durian, jackfruit, avocado; VA06, Ruzi, and Momasa Guinea grass, not only providing food sources for raising goats, but also creating diverse agricultural products, increasing income value per unit of land area.

Since then, pharmacist Vu Quang Chinh has regularly maintained a herd of 1,000 Boer breeding goats, meat goats, and breeding goats. Of these, 500 - 600 are on his farm; 400 - 500 are on 8 member households associated with circular livestock farming in Bao Loc. The form of association is to provide breeding animals and provide guidance on circular livestock farming techniques, which is undertaken by pharmacist Chinh. Member households invest in barns, growing areas, and utilize by-products as animal feed. The total revenue is agreed to be divided in half between pharmacist Vu Quang Chinh and the 8 members of the association.

Scaling up

In addition to providing regular employment for more than 10 local workers at the farm, pharmacist Vu Quang Chinh has guided and disseminated production experience, applied scientific and technical advances in raising Boer goats associated with circular farming to more than 30 investing households, and supported Boer goat breeds for more than 20 poor households in the locality. In addition, the Boer goat farm regularly opens its doors to students, tourists to visit, experience feeding goats, cutting grass, collecting and composting organic fertilizer, and learning about the process of raising and cultivating circular crops, thereby contributing to arousing the spirit of entrepreneurship and raising public awareness of sustainable agriculture ...

Up to now, pharmacist Vu Quang Chinh has built the brand "Quang Chinh Goat Farm" associated with high quality, transparent breeding process, and food safety. Specifically, using pure Boer goats, controlling the source of breeds to ensure herd quality and high commercial value; separating the herd for meat, taking breeds for effective management and optimizing productivity. The Boer goat farm is designed with high floors, fast drainage system, limiting antibiotics to prevent and treat diseases safely. Products are consumed stably through the value chain according to contracts...

From his practical experience with raising Boer goats, pharmacist Vu Quang Chinh concluded that the reason for success is due to knowing how to apply science and technology and organize production links according to the value chain associated with the market.
