Barca in the face of injury storm: Hansi Flick relies on Rashford

Marcus Rashford is becoming Barcelona's hope in the most difficult period since the beginning of the season.

Besides, Raphinha's injury has left him not ready to return after nearly a month off. The pride of Lamine Yamal has only recovered about 70% of his physical strength.

In that picture, Rashford emerged as the only bright spot in the "Blaugrana" attack, in the derby with Girona in round 9 of La Liga - a warm-up for the El Clasico.

The Englishman arrived at Barcelona with a lot of doubts, especially after a period of decline with MU. But in just a few weeks, Rashford has proven why Flick was determined to bring him: speed, flexible finishing ability and a never-give-up spirit.

In Flick’s high pressing system, Rashford is not only the spearhead of the attack but also the one who paves the way for the entire team. He moves wide, exploiting the space on the left flank, even moving into the middle when needed to act as a true “false 9”.

“I'm happy to be the player who is involved in the most goals for Barca at the moment, but I know I can still do better,” Rashford shared.

The England international currently has three goals and five assists. “I haven’t reached my limit yet, although I feel like I’m getting closer,” he said, reflecting the confidence and determination of a player who has been through a rough patch.

For Hansi Flick , Rashford’s resurgence makes strategic sense. Without Lewandowski to rely on, he needs someone who can make the difference in unpredictable moments – and Rashy is just that type of player.

He is not a classic striker, but can change the tempo of a match with just one sprint or a powerful shot.

Rashford admitted: "Joining Barca gives me new energy, new style and a new country to explore . I feel this team is very suitable for me. I can help the club more" .

It's that spirit that permeates the dressing room. While other teammates struggle with injuries, Rashford is the only one who always comes out with a smile.
