The 80th anniversary of the Vietnam - US Association was recently held at the Ho Guom Theater with the highlight being the special art program Connecting Vietnamese - US Melodies with the participation of outstanding artists from the two countries. In particular, the world- famous Johns Creek Symphony Orchestra - under the command of international conductor Henry Cheng and 45 musicians from the US created a great attraction for not only guests but also classical chamber music lovers in Vietnam.
This is a rare occasion for Vietnamese audiences to welcome a world-famous symphony orchestra, especially the appearance of pianist Maxim Lando, along with artists: Tung Duong (Vietnam), Mikaela Ayira (17-year-old singer - Top 5 The Voice USA)...

Young opera artist Duong Duc Hai was honored to be part of the program. Singing with a world-class symphony orchestra is an honor but also full of pressure for any artist. However, overcoming those psychological barriers, Duong Duc Hai - an 8th grade student at Nam Tu Liem Secondary School ( Hanoi ) stepped onto the stage with dignity and successfully performed the song Mamma to the applause of the audience.
Mamma is an Italian classic song composed by Cesare Andrea Bixio and written by Bruno Cherubini. The arrangement was by musician and conductor Dustin T. (Vietnam), performed professionally by Duong Duc Hai.

“I am very honored to be able to perform in this program. I chose the song Mamma to perform both to serve the audience and as a gift to my mother who has always cared for and loved me. I also want to send this gift to my teachers - who I consider my mothers - on October 20th” - Duong Duc Hai shared with VietNamNet.
Duong Duc Hai had achieved quite a lot of success on the opera stage in 2025, he was the youngest contestant to participate in the Crescendo 2025 competition in Vietnam. Here, Hai participated in two categories and won both prizes, including the First Prize in the Festival category (non-professional) and the Special Prize in the Competition category (reserved for students studying vocal music).

Duong Duc Hai is also a Vietnamese contestant who participated in the TSP International Arts Festival and won a Gold medal. This is a large-scale and prestigious art event in China, attracting thousands of contestants to participate in the qualifying round and the final round held in Shanghai city by the Center for Domestic and International Cultural Exchange under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of China.
