Surprise: Neymar inherited more than 1 billion USD from Brazilian businessman

TPO - A 31-year-old businessman in Rio Grande do Sul state (Brazil) has notarized a will, naming football superstar Neymar as the heir to his assets.

According to CNN Brazil, the will was signed on June 12, 2025, at Notary Office No. 9 in Porto Alegre, in the presence of two witnesses and a substitute notary.

A close source said the businessman's assets include real estate, stocks and investments, with an estimated total value of more than 1 billion USD.

Explaining his sudden decision, the anonymous businessman said he admires Neymar and sympathizes with the football superstar's career and life. "I like Neymar, I see myself having many similarities with him," the businessman told UOL.

“I have suffered a lot of slander. Neymar's story with his father reminds me of my own father who passed away. But above all, he is not selfish, which is rare nowadays," he shared.

The businessman, who has no children and is suffering from health problems, has submitted complete documents and notarized papers to prove the registration of the will.

Neymar's representatives said they had not received official notification of the will. The 33-year-old striker, who is currently playing for Santos in the 2025 Brazilian Championship, has not yet commented.

According to Sportico, Neymar currently owns an estimated fortune of about 1.01 billion USD.
