Viet Trinh plans to donate her body on her 52nd birthday.

On the morning of November 4, Dr. Du Thi Ngoc Thu, Head of the Human Organ Transplant Coordination Unit at Cho Ray Hospital in Ho Chi Minh City, said that the hospital does not accept body donations.

"After Tien Phong newspaper reported that Viet Trinh wanted to donate her body, many people came to Cho Ray Hospital to apply for body donation. We want to emphasize that Cho Ray Hospital does not accept body donations. The unit only accepts cases of organ donation," said Dr. Du Thi Ngoc Thu.

Dr. Du Thi Ngoc Thu said that the units that accept body donations are medical universities, for example, the University of Medicine and Pharmacy. Only medical universities have specialized morgue rooms to serve training and teaching purposes.

Contacting Viet Trinh, the actress said she intends to donate her body after 5 years of completing organ donation procedures at Cho Ray Hospital in Ho Chi Minh City. The actress of 'Nguoi dep Tay Do' said she will register at a place that accepts body donations, possibly the University of Medicine and Pharmacy, as early as November, on the occasion of her 52nd birthday.

At the end of October, Viet Trinh said she was looking into body donation procedures at several hospitals in Ho Chi Minh City, waiting for the time to register after 5 years of registering to be an organ donor. The actress said organ donation is donating some body parts voluntarily, while body donation is donating the body to medicine after death.

"If I live a healthy life until old age, when I die, I want to contribute something useful to society and medicine. The parts of my body that are still usable can help train medical students," Viet Trinh said.

The actress said some of her friends objected when she shared her intention to donate her body. She explained to her family that this was a legitimate action. The actress was happy to spread the humane meaning of donating her body and organs to medicine.

"Asians and Vietnamese in general are afraid of donating bodies and organs, thinking that it is taboo for a person to die without a whole body. I think differently, I don't want to make my children suffer with many procedures after death," Viet Trinh added.
