In response to the Government's request for digital transformation in healthcare , Saigon Eye Hospital System - the largest non-public eye hospital and clinic system in Vietnam (according to the Vietnam Record Organization - established on October 16, 2024) - launched the electronic medical record project in April.
With great efforts and close coordination of the entire team for nearly 4 months, Saigon Eye Hospital System completed the target in August, nearly 2 months earlier than the deadline given in Directive 07/CT-TTg of the Prime Minister .
Saigon Vinh Eye Hospital was the first unit in the system to reach the finish line on May 23, creating a solid foundation for replicating the model nationwide.

The implementation of electronic medical records by the Saigon Eye Hospital System brings practical benefits to both patients and medical staff. For patients, electronic medical records significantly reduce waiting time and administrative procedures. Instead of complicated paper records, all patient medical information is now managed on a single digital platform.

Medical history, test results, and prescriptions are stored securely, confidentially, and can be retrieved instantly at any facility in the Saigon Eye Hospital System. This ensures continuity and consistency in treatment, helping doctors make more accurate clinical decisions based on complete data.
Patients can easily sign and confirm their records through modern methods such as signing on a tablet, fingerprint authentication or via the MSG Care mobile application.

For doctors and medical staff, electronic medical records are a powerful support tool. Eliminating paper records helps reduce administrative pressure, giving medical staff more time to focus on professional care. Doctors can access patient records anytime, anywhere, consult remotely, and issue orders quickly and accurately. The system also ensures the connection and sharing of data between medical facilities in accordance with the regulations of the Ministry of Health , contributing to the construction of a synchronous national medical network.
Sharing about this important milestone, Mr. Huynh Le Duc, General Director of Saigon Medical Group, owner of the Saigon Eye Hospital System brand, emphasized: "The implementation of electronic medical records and integration into the MSG Care application are important steps for us to develop a digital hospital model. The goal is not only to digitize records but also to create maximum convenience for patients so that they can proactively manage their health and interact with the medical team in a transparent and convenient manner. This is also the commitment of the Saigon Eye Hospital System to contribute to the development of the digital medical era with patients at the center."
The early completion of electronic medical records comes from the synchronous coordination between the Information Technology Department, the Professional Department of Saigon Medical Group and the entire team of hospitals and clinics in the Saigon Eye Hospital System. This is also a testament to the determination and pioneering spirit of the Saigon Eye Hospital System in the journey of digital transformation of healthcare, aiming to build a modern and patient-centered healthcare system.
