On the afternoon of June 27, after the end of the Math exam period in the 2024 High School Graduation Exam, Mr. Phung Ngoc Hap - Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Bao Loc City went to the exam site of Nguyen Du High School to grasp the situation and request the Examination Council and relevant agencies to support the two candidates who had an accident in the upcoming exam days.

Previously, at 1:30 p.m. the same day, Tran Tuan Anh rode a motorbike with his friend Le Thi Truc Anh, who also studied at Tan Tien Private Vocational College (Loc Tien Ward, Bao Loc City), from his house in Loc Tien Ward to the exam site at Nguyen Du High School to take the Math exam in the 2024 High School Graduation Exam.

However, while driving his motorbike on Highway 20 to the traffic lights in Loc Tien ward, the raincoat that Tran Tuan Anh was wearing flew over his head, blocking his vision and causing his motorbike to crash into the back of a truck that was parked on the side of the road. As a result, Tuan Anh suffered a broken left leg and Truc Anh suffered facial injuries and a broken tooth.

After the accident, when they learned that both students were going to the 2024 high school graduation exam site, passersby took them both to the exam site.

After arriving at the exam site, the two candidates were visited, shared with, and encouraged by teachers, invigilators, and youth volunteers. Truc Anh regained her composure and entered the exam room to take the Math exam.

After the medical staff bandaged his wound and assessed his health, Tran Tuan Anh wrote a commitment to continue taking the Math exam.

A representative of the Nguyen Du High School Examination Council said that after visiting and assessing the situation, both candidates Tran Tuan Anh and Le Thi Truc Anh completed the Math exam on time.

After arriving at the exam site, Le Thi Truc Anh was encouraged by teachers and volunteers and determined to enter the exam room to take the Math exam.

After completing the Math exam, on the afternoon of June 27, both Tran Tuan Anh and Le Thi Truc Anh were picked up by the authorities at the exam room and taken to Lam Dong II Hospital for examination and treatment.

It is known that Tran Tuan Anh lost his father at a young age, his mother is working far away and is currently living with his grandparents in Loc Chau commune (Bao Loc city). Tuan Anh's family is in a difficult situation in the locality, but he has always been a good student.

Meanwhile, Le Thi Truc Anh has been an excellent student for many years. In the 2023-2024 school year, Truc Anh won the Encouragement Prize in Literature for 12th grade students at the provincial level.

After completing the Math exam, Tuan Anh and Truc Anh were taken to Lam Dong II Hospital for examination and treatment.

Mr. Phung Ngoc Hap said that the city leaders worked with Lam Dong II Hospital and the City Medical Center to send doctors and nurses to promptly take the two candidates to the hospital for examination and treatment, and provide intensive health care for the two candidates.

In addition, the locality will also consider providing financial support to the two candidates who unfortunately had an accident according to regulations to encourage them. In addition, the locality will assign the Bao Loc City Youth Union to arrange forces and means to transport the two candidates during the remaining exam days to ensure safety.

Ms. Pham Thi Hong Hai - Director of the Department of Education and Training, Head of the Examination Board of Lam Dong province said that the whole Lam Dong province has 15,224 candidates taking the Math exam in the 2024 high school graduation exam (reaching a rate of 99.70%).
