Ministry of Industry and Trade: The case of accusing Chu Thanh Huyen is complicated.

(Dan Tri) - The leader of the Department of Domestic Market Management and Development said that the case of the complaint against Ms. Chu Thanh Huyen for selling smuggled goods is relatively complicated, and some signs may be related to criminal matters.

At the Ministry of Industry and Trade 's third quarter press conference on the afternoon of October 8, a reporter from Dan Tri newspaper asked the agency about the progress and results of handling the complaint against Ms. Chu Thanh Huyen for selling goods without invoices and documents, showing signs of tax evasion after more than 3 months.

"In the draft Law on E-commerce, how does the Ministry of Industry and Trade plan to amend it to strengthen management of the sale of counterfeit, fake, smuggled goods, and tax evasion through livestreaming?", the reporter asked.

Regarding this issue, Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan - Deputy Director of the Department of Domestic Market Management and Development (Ministry of Industry and Trade) - said that the content of this complaint is basically a case of a consumer buying cosmetics online on Ms. Chu Thanh Huyen's account and according to the content of the complaint, the seller did not issue a clear invoice.

"Upon receiving the information, the Department of Domestic Market Management and Development instructed the applicant to transfer the application to the locality, specifically the Hanoi Market Management Department, and this unit held working sessions to verify the content of this application," Mr. Tuan informed.

The leader of the Department of Domestic Market Management and Development said that the latest report from the Hanoi Market Management Department shows that this case is relatively complicated, with some signs that it may be related to criminal matters.

"The Department of Domestic Market Management and Development has discussed and instructed the subjects to transfer the petition to the competent authorities for handling. This is one of thousands of cases that the local market management force has coordinated to handle in the past 9 months," he emphasized.

Regarding the management of the sale of smuggled, counterfeit, and fake goods via livestream, Ms. Nguyen Thi Minh Huyen, Deputy Director of the Department of E-commerce and Digital Economy , said that recently, the Ministry of Industry and Trade has focused on implementing 4 groups of solutions.

"First, coordinate to remove more than 44,000 violating products from more than 2,000 stores, mainly in the household and fashion goods category. At the same time, coordinate with the police and market management agencies to handle 120 violating websites in the field of e-commerce. Strengthen training, improve monitoring capacity and detect violations in the online environment...", she shared.

Ms. Huyen emphasized that commercial fraud in e-commerce is a hot issue, included in the draft Law on E-commerce, completed in September and expected to be submitted to the National Assembly for approval in October. In particular, the management of counterfeit and fake goods is the focus, with the proposal to identify sellers through VeID to strengthen control and traceability...

In early April, the Drug Administration received a complaint from a citizen about Ms. Chu Thanh Huyen selling OHUI Prime rose water cosmetics set (Korea) without Vietnamese sub-labels, without issuing sales invoices, showing signs of consuming smuggled goods and tax evasion.

Based on regulations, the Drug Administration Department has forwarded the petition to the Hanoi Market Management Department and the Hanoi Department of Industry and Trade for consideration and settlement in accordance with the law. On April 18, the leader of the Hanoi Market Management Department said that the unit had received the petition from the Drug Administration Department and was verifying and clarifying the information in the complaint in accordance with the procedure.
