
Major Tran Quoc Khanh, Head of Tam Thanh Border Guard Station, Da Nang City, said that in the past 2 days, Tam Thanh Border Guard Station has deployed many practical activities, proactively preventing and responding to natural disasters. The station has established 4 permanent and mobile working groups consisting of 20 officers and soldiers in the unit, with the task of coordinating with armed forces, shock forces, authorities and local people to strictly implement the "4 on-the-spot" motto in responding to and minimizing damage caused by natural disasters.
Working groups participated in helping people in areas at risk of being directly affected by the storm by supporting and bracing their houses, pumping water into nylon bags placed on the roof to protect the roof from being tossed by the storm; moving valuable assets and daily necessities, especially the assets of the elderly and the lonely, to a safe place; coordinating with local forces to move dozens of motorboats and basket boats serving sea tourism to a safe place, avoiding damage from the storm.
Currently, officers and soldiers of the unit are present in vulnerable areas, areas at risk of landslides and flooding to help people, Major Tran Quoc Khanh, Head of Tam Thanh Border Guard Station informed.

At the Ky Ha Port Border Guard Station, Lieutenant Colonel Le Anh Tuy, Station Chief, said that the unit is stationed in an area with a high population density, and the number of fishing vessels is among the highest in the city. On the night of October 21, the unit fired signal flares and used communication equipment to connect with ship owners and captains still moving at sea to inform them of the developments of storm No. 12 and to find safe shelters. By the afternoon of October 22, the unit called on hundreds of ships to enter the anchorage area to safely shelter from the storm.
On October 22, the Ky Ha Port Border Guard Station sent officers and soldiers to schools, headquarters and residential areas to participate in trimming trees, and strengthening houses, warehouses and schools before storm No. 12 makes landfall.
“Along with the proactive work of preventing and fighting storm No. 12 of the Party committees, authorities, local forces and local people, the active support of officers and soldiers of Ky Ha port border guard station helped people feel confident in responding and minimizing damage caused by natural disasters,” said Mr. Tran Quang Ngoc, a resident of Nui Thanh commune who was supported by officers and soldiers of Ky Ha port border guard station to move his assets to a safe place.

Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Da Nang City Tran Nam Hung said that in the meeting on the morning of October 22, the city's leaders directed relevant agencies to establish 3 forward command posts at the Da Nang City Administrative Center, Dai Loc commune and Tam Ky ward to promptly direct and operate the work of prevention, response, rescue, and minimize damage caused by natural disasters.
“Storm No. 12 is about to make landfall, all localities and units must strictly implement the 24/7 duty regime, maintain contact and regularly update forecasts to have appropriate responses. Armed forces and local shock forces are ready with vehicles and human resources, ensuring quick mobility, ready to be present anytime, anywhere to support people to safety.
Before 5 p.m. on October 22, localities must complete the review and evacuation of people in areas at high risk of landslides, mountain landslides, riverside and coastal landslides, and low-lying areas with local flooding, ensuring absolute safety for people and property of the State and people," the Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Da Nang City requested.
