The discussions between the two defense chiefs focused on enhancing bilateral defense cooperation in a number of areas, including convergence of strategic interests and strengthening cooperation between the two countries. Both sides agreed to maintain momentum for strong and comprehensive bilateral defense cooperation.

Notably, the Indian and US Defence Ministers signed a Roadmap for Defence Industry Cooperation, which identifies opportunities for collaboration in developing new technologies and co-manufacturing new and existing systems. The two countries will also facilitate increased collaboration between the defence start-up ecosystem. The Roadmap will help guide policy in the coming years.
The two sides welcomed the recent talks, which focused on artificial intelligence and defense space. In addition, the two defense ministers also discussed regional security issues of mutual concern, including their shared interests in maintaining peace and stability in the Indo- Pacific region.
In a statement, Indian Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said the partnership between India and the US is vital in ensuring a free, open and rules-based Indo- Pacific region. India looks forward to working closely with the US across the board to build capacity and further strengthen the strategic partnership between the two countries.
