Within the framework of the program, Coast Guard officers and soldiers directly disseminated and popularized the law on seas and islands to fishermen, focusing on regulations on preventing and combating illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing; organized dialogues, distributed leaflets; answered questions... thereby, helping fishermen better understand the boundaries of fishing areas, regulations on installing voyage monitoring equipment as well as legal procedures when fishing offshore.
As a result, many ship owners and captains have directly signed a commitment not to violate IUU, demonstrating a sense of responsibility, joining the whole country in removing the European Commission's "yellow card" for the Vietnamese seafood industry.
Along with propaganda work, the Command of Coast Guard Region 3 presented 500 national flags, 50 gifts including life jackets, medical bags, flashlights and essential necessities to fishermen.

Speaking at the program, Colonel Cao Xuan Quan, Deputy Political Commissar of the Coast Guard Region 3 Command, emphasized: “The program is a bridge connecting the feelings between the Coast Guard and the people. Thereby, accompanying fishermen in building awareness of law compliance, preserving the marine environment and contributing to firmly protecting national sovereignty .”
Over the past years, the Vietnam Coast Guard Command has effectively implemented the program "Coast Guard accompanies fishermen" in 21 coastal provinces and cities (before the merger, there were 28 provinces and cities), which has been recognized and highly appreciated by the Party Committee, government and people.
Particularly in Vinh Long province, the Command of Coast Guard Region 3 has closely coordinated with the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department to carry out many practical activities. From the beginning of 2025 until now, the unit has organized 2 programs in Dinh An town (formerly Tra Vinh ) and Tan Thuy commune (Vinh Long); combining the presentation of national flags, medical bags, life jackets, flashlights, and the distribution of propaganda leaflets to hundreds of ship owners, captains, and fishermen.
The unit also coordinated with Hung Vuong Hospital in Ho Chi Minh City to organize medical examinations, health consultations, and free medicine distribution for more than 600 people, policy families, and those in difficult circumstances; at the same time, sponsored and supported 2 students in special circumstances until they finished grade 12.
