National First Division Football Tournament 2025-2026 draw

(Dan Tri) - This morning (September 11), VPF conducted the second draw for the national first division football tournament for the 2025-2026 season. Accordingly, championship candidate Dong Nai will meet neighboring team Ho Chi Minh City in the first round.

After the tournament had a change in the participating forces, Hoa Binh Football Club withdrew, Phu Tho team replaced (Phu Tho Club was formerly named Gia Dinh Football Club), the Organizing Committee (OC) of the first division and VPF conducted a redraw.

According to the draw results this morning, Dong Nai Football Club will face neighboring team Ho Chi Minh City Club in the first round.

Dong Nai is a strong candidate for the championship of the first division this season. The Southeast team owns many former national players such as Cong Phuong, Xuan Truong, Minh Vuong…

The first round of the first division football tournament will open this September. In addition to the teams of Dong Nai, Phu Tho, and Ho Chi Minh City, the tournament will also feature nine other teams, including Thanh Nien Ho Chi Minh City Club, Bac Ninh, Long An , Khanh Hoa, Quy Nhon United, Van Hien University, PVF-CAND Youth, Quang Ninh, and Dong Thap Club.

The 2025-2026 First Division will compete in a double round-robin format, at home and away, with points and rankings.

It is expected that the two leading teams of the 2025-2026 first division will be promoted to the 2026-2027 V-League, while the two bottom teams will be relegated to the second division next season.

Each club participating in the first division this season will be allowed to register one foreign player, one naturalized foreign player and two overseas Vietnamese players.
