At the meetings, President Vo Van Thuong expressed his satisfaction with the substantial and extensive development in all fields after 50 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations; and announced that the Vietnam-Japan relationship had been upgraded to a comprehensive strategic partnership for peace and prosperity in Asia and the world.
The President affirmed that the Vietnam-Japan relationship is facing opportunities to further develop in all fields and expand cooperation to new areas with a vision for cooperation in the next 50 years; and asked Japanese politicians to pay attention to and promote the concretization of the two countries' cooperation contents within the new relationship framework.
Japanese leaders and politicians expressed their joy at welcoming President Vo Van Thuong to his official visit to Japan in the year marking the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries; and supported the Japanese Government in considering Vietnam a priority in its foreign policy.

At the meeting with Vice President of the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) Aso Taro, President Vo Van Thuong highly appreciated Mr. Aso Taro's important contributions in his previous capacity as Prime Minister of Japan when he and General Secretary Nong Duc Manh signed the Joint Statement on the Strategic Partnership for Peace and Prosperity in Asia in 2015, as well as in his current role as Vice President of the LDP.
The President hopes that Mr. Aso Taro, with his prestige in Japanese politics, will continue to make positive and effective contributions to strengthening the Vietnam-Japan cooperation relationship as well as the relationship between the LDP and Vietnam, especially promoting exchanges between the two Parties and parliamentarians, and promoting economic, trade and investment cooperation between the two countries.
Vice President of the Liberal Democratic Party Aso Taro expressed his wish to promote bilateral cooperation in the economic and people-to-people fields, emphasizing that Vietnam is a favorite destination for Japanese investors in the process of shifting the supply chain, with its attractive human resources and potential market.
At the meeting with Komeito Party Chairman Yamaguchi Natsuo, President Vo Van Thuong highly appreciated the visit to Vietnam by Chairman Yamaguchi and the Komeito Party parliamentary delegation last August; and suggested continuing to pay attention to promoting cooperative relations between the two countries, especially in the fields of high-level exchanges, cooperation between the Komeito Party and the Communist Party of Vietnam, as well as cooperation between the two countries' localities.
Komeito Party Chairman Yamaguchi Natsuo highly appreciated the two countries' upgrading of relations to Comprehensive Strategic Partnership for Peace and Prosperity in Asia and the world; affirmed that Komeito Party will continue to support and strengthen cooperation with Vietnam to further deepen Vietnam-Japan relations in the coming time, especially in the fields of high-quality infrastructure, healthcare, labor, and education, which are areas in which Komeito Party members hold the positions of Minister and head of ministries in charge in the Japanese cabinet.

At the reception for the Chairman of the Japanese Communist Party, President Vo Van Thuong highly appreciated the trust and traditional solidarity between the two Parties as well as the sentiments and positive contributions of Chairman Shii to the Party, State and people of Vietnam over the past many years.
The President affirmed that the Party, State and people of Vietnam always remember, cherish and are grateful for the good sentiments and valuable support and assistance that the Communist Party and people of Japan gave to the Vietnamese people in the past struggle for national liberation as well as in the current cause of national construction and protection.
The Head of State of Vietnam asked Mr. Shii to continue to pay attention to supporting and promoting further cooperation and exchanges between the two countries, including continuing to develop relations between the Communist Parties of Vietnam and Japan; effectively and flexibly promoting Party channel exchange mechanisms, sharing information and experience in Party building, theories and practices on building socialism; and accompanying and supporting Vietnam in implementing the three strategic breakthroughs approved by the 13th National Party Congress.
Congratulating the two countries on upgrading their relationship to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership for Peace and Prosperity in Asia and the World, the Chairman of the Communist Party of Japan highly appreciated the achievements of Vietnam's reform process; expressed his joy at Vietnam's rapid and remarkable development in recent times; wished to promote exchanges between the Communist Parties of the two countries; thanked and asked Vietnam to continue supporting the non-proliferation of nuclear weapons.
At the meeting with close friends of parliament, President Vo Van Thuong expressed his joy and emotion at meeting old friends of parliament during his first visit to Japan as President, recalling profound memories of meetings and exchanges with Japanese friends.
The President affirmed that the exchange between young leaders, young parliamentarians and people of the two countries is an important factor in building a trusting and sustainable relationship between the two countries.
Congressman Nakane Kazuyuki, Head of the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) General Committee, Congressman Matsumoto Yohei, Head of the LDP's Internet Communications Committee, and Congressman Suzuki Keisuke, Head of the LDP's Finance Committee, all expressed their joy and emotion at meeting President Vo Van Thuong again; recalling their deep feelings and unforgettable memories of their meetings with the President in different positions. The parliamentarians affirmed that they will do their best to contribute to the development of the Vietnam-Japan cooperative relationship, including enhancing exchanges between young leaders and young parliamentarians of the two countries.
