At the press conference, Member of the Standing Committee, Head of the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission of the City Party Committee Hoang Khanh Hung said that, implementing Directive 45-CT/TW of the Politburo on organizing party congresses at all levels, the preparations for the Congress have been basically completed, ensuring the progress and requirements set out. The Congress will take place in 3 days, from October 2-4, 2025 at the Song Huong Theater (No. 1 Le Loi, Thuan Hoa Ward). The preparatory session will be held on the afternoon of October 2, the official opening ceremony on the morning of October 3.

With the motto "Solidarity - Democracy - Discipline - Development", this Congress has the theme: "Strengthening the building of a clean and strong Party and political system; promoting the strength of the entire people; promoting innovation, mobilizing all resources, creating breakthroughs in socio -economic development, maintaining national defense and security; building Hue city to develop in the direction of green - smart - rich in identity".

The congress gathered 400 delegates, representing more than 25,000 party members of the entire city Party Committee; of which, there were 298 men and 102 women; 28 delegates were ethnic minorities. Notably, there were 152 delegates with master's degrees, 12 doctors, along with many young officials and intellectuals, demonstrating the rejuvenation and intellectualization of the city's leadership and management staff.

The 17th Congress will focus on evaluating the implementation results of the Resolution of the 16th City Party Congress, the Resolution of the 13th Party Congress and the 35 years of construction and development of the city since the re-establishment of the province. On that basis, the Congress will determine the direction, goals and solutions for the period 2025 - 2030, with the aspiration that by 2030 Hue will become a typical heritage city of Vietnam, a major center of Southeast Asia in culture, tourism, specialized healthcare; and at the same time, one of the leading centers in the country in science - technology, education - training, and marine economy.

The Congress will also elect the 17th City Party Executive Committee consisting of 52 comrades and elect a delegation to attend the 14th National Party Congress.
