At the Conference, the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Football Federation focused on discussing preparations for national teams to participate in the 33rd SEA Games and key tasks from September to December this year.
According to the plan, the teams will have training sessions at home and abroad, and participate in international friendly tournaments to train their forces. In which, the national men's team aims to maintain its form in the Asian Cup qualifiers and prepare its forces for major tournaments, while the women's team and the national U20 women's team will compete well in the 2026 Asian finals.
The national U22 teams, the national women's team, the national men's/women's futsal teams are striving to reach the finals at the 33rd SEA Games. Youth teams such as the men's U17/18, women's U17... are also training, competing internationally and participating in the Asian qualifiers, with the goal of reaching the finals, thereby maintaining the leading position in the region and creating opportunities to accumulate experience for the next generation.
Speaking at the Conference, President of the Vietnam Football Federation Tran Quoc Tuan emphasized that in the context of the nationwide implementation of administrative unit mergers and personnel arrangements, the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Football Federation has upheld its responsibility in work, closely followed the general development of Vietnamese football as well as all general socio-economic activities, and issued many timely policies to support member organizations and clubs.
On that basis, along with the strategic and systematic investment of the VFF, Vietnamese football continues to achieve many proud achievements such as: The national U23 team won the Southeast Asian Championship for the third consecutive time, the women's team won the right to participate in the 2026 Asian Cup Women's Finals, the U20 women's team won a ticket to participate in the 2026 Asian U20 Women's Finals.
Along with that, the 2024/25 National Professional Football Tournament system was organized and ended as planned, with many remarkable results in other areas of work.
The conference also discussed and agreed on a number of major tasks of the VFF and the VFF Executive Committee in the coming time to ensure the stable development of Vietnamese football.
