Musical bridge connecting countries

VHO - On September 27, within the framework of the World Exhibition EXPO 2025 Osaka, Kansai (Japan), the Vietnam Exhibition House coordinated with the ASEAN Exhibition House to organize a special art program "ASEAN presents Vietnam".

Attending the event were Ambassador William E. Grayson, Representative General of the United States; Deputy Representative General of ASEAN Lee Yoong Yoong; Director of the Vietnam Exhibition House Do Lan Phuong and hundreds of audiences who love Vietnamese culture and music .

The program features performances by talented artists from the Vietnam Pavilion and two guest artists from Japan - Masaichi Wanibuchi and the United States - Austin Alcancia (Youth Ambassador of the United States Pavilion).

In his opening speech, Mr. Lee Yoong Yoong gave an overview of ASEAN and the active and responsible participation of member country Vietnam. Mr. Lee Yoong Yoong said that this is the last ASEAN presents event at EXPO 2025 and believes that the Vietnam Exhibition House will bring a particularly impressive program to the audience.

On behalf of the Vietnam Exhibition House, Director Do Lan Phuong shared that the ASEAN presents Vietnam program at EXPO 2025 in coordination with the ASEAN Exhibition House became more special than ever because the event helped connect artists from Vietnam, the United States and Japan to appear on the same international stage.

Ms. Do Lan Phuong emphasized that the ASEAN presents Vietnam program not only conveys music but is also a symbol of the connection of nations with common passion and ideals, contributing to strengthening cross-border friendship.

The ASEAN initiative to honor member countries was implemented from EXPO 2020 Dubai and maintained until EXPO 2025 Osaka, becoming a good tradition to strengthen solidarity, friendship and cultural diversity in the ASEAN Community.

Music becomes a bridge connecting ASEAN - Japan - United States

The program is one of the important activities to honor the image of the country and people of Vietnam at the world's largest cultural event - World EXPO. In particular, the program is held on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of Vietnam joining ASEAN (1995 - 2025) and is the only ASEAN presents event with the participation of artists from countries that are important partners of the ASEAN region.

Under the sunset by the sea at Yumeshima Island, traditional Vietnamese and Japanese folk melodies such as Trong Com , Beo Dat May Troi , Chuon Rong Do resonate through traditional Vietnamese bamboo instruments and the Japanese sanshin of artist Masaichi Wanibuchi.

All of this created a romantic and profound musical space at EXPO, captivating domestic and international audiences. In particular, Vietnamese-American trumpet artist Austin Dinh Alcancia, with his burning passion for Trinh Cong Son's music, delivered an emotional solo performance of the song Diem Xua by musician Trinh Cong Son.

The event "ASEAN presents Vietnam" attracted hundreds of spectators.

The ASEAN Way concert and the song Chiec Khan Pieu by all artists created a vibrant and joyful atmosphere, successfully concluding the special art program ASEAN presents Vietnam at EXPO 2025 Osaka.

Within the framework of EXPO 2025 Osaka, Vietnam has become one of the proactive and active member countries with many highly appreciated initiatives in ASEAN, typically the ASEAN Week initiative at the Vietnam Exhibition House at EXPO 2025, and cultural and artistic exchanges between ASEAN member countries.

Vietnam Exhibition House is one of the Exhibition Houses actively cooperating with other Exhibition Houses to perform together with the musical meaning of connecting peoples and nations.

Recently, Vietnam Exhibition House was honored to receive the Bronze Award in the Best Team category at The World Expolympics Awards presented by The Experiential Design Authority.

During the countdown days to the closing of the EXPO 2025 event, with the spirit of promoting the country's image and spreading the quintessence of Vietnamese culture to the world, the Vietnam Exhibition House will continue to promote creativity to bring memorable experiences to visitors to EXPO 2025.
