Airlines simultaneously open ticket sales for Lunar New Year 2025

Although the 2025 Lunar New Year is still a few months away, Vietnamese airlines have quickly started selling tickets for this peak season to meet the travel needs of millions of people returning home to celebrate Tet.

In particular, airlines belonging to Vietnam Airlines Group, including Vietnam Airlines, Pacific Airlines and VASCO, have announced plans to open sales of nearly 1.5 million seats on domestic routes, serving the period from January 13 to February 12, 2025, or from December 14 to January 15 of the lunar calendar.

According to a representative of Vietnam Airlines Group, this is the first round of ticket sales based on the current approved flight schedule. The airline will continue to monitor the actual demand of the market, thereby adjusting the number of tickets provided and promptly notifying customers. Opening multiple sales rounds like this is to ensure that people have enough time to plan and buy tickets, especially during the Lunar New Year - a time when the number of passengers always increases dramatically.

Flights during this peak period focus on “hot” routes, connecting three major centers: Hanoi , Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh City with provinces and cities such as Hai Phong, Vinh, Thanh Hoa, Hue, Quy Nhon, Nha Trang, Pleiku, Da Lat, Buon Ma Thuot, and Phu Quoc.

Not only Vietnam Airlines Group, Vietjet Air has also announced the early sale of up to 2.6 million tickets from January 15 to February 12, 2025. With an attractive ticket price strategy, Vietjet Air offers starting prices from VND 890,000 for flights from Ho Chi Minh City to Da Nang, Buon Ma Thuot, Pleiku, Nha Trang, Da Lat, and from VND 1,790,000 for flights to Hanoi, Vinh, Thanh Hoa, Hai Phong. In particular, the return flight from the provinces to Ho Chi Minh City has ticket prices from VND 0, helping people save maximum travel costs.

Vietjet Air representatives also encourage passengers to book tickets early to have the opportunity to choose suitable flights with preferential prices, as well as enjoy convenient schedules during Tet, when travel demand increases.

Opening Tet ticket sales early not only helps reduce pressure on airlines' ticket sales systems but also makes it easier for people to plan to return home and celebrate a full Tet with their families.
