Vietnam Airlines opens early sales with more than 3.5 million tickets for Lunar New Year 2026

In preparation for the increased travel demand at the end of the year, Vietnam Airlines Group (including Vietnam Airlines, Pacific Airlines and VASCO) officially opened early ticket sales for Lunar New Year 2026.

Vietnam Airlines opens early sales with more than 3.5 million tickets for Lunar New Year 2026

Accordingly, the peak period lasts from February 2 to March 3, 2026 (ie from December 15 to January 15 of the lunar calendar), with a total of more than 3.5 million seats sold on the entire domestic and international flight network, an increase of nearly 20% over the same period last year.

From today (September 3), passengers can buy tickets for Tet 2026 on the website, mobile application, ticket offices or official agents of Vietnam Airlines . This is the first ticket sale based on the approved flight schedule.

Vietnam Airlines Group will continue to monitor market demand, balance aircraft resources and allocate slots (take-offs and landings) to open sales in the next rounds, helping people more conveniently plan their travel during Tet.

As usual, peak flight routes will be concentrated between three major cities, including: Hanoi , Da Nang, Ho Chi Minh City and key localities such as: Hai Phong, Thanh Hoa, Vinh, Hue, Quy Nhon, Cam Ranh, Phu Quoc..., in which, the number of seats supplied on the Hanoi-Ho Chi Minh City route increased by nearly 18%, the Ho Chi Minh City-Da Nang route increased by nearly 9%, the routes between Ho Chi Minh City and Hai Phong, Thanh Hoa, Hue increased from 9-13% over the same period.

At the same time, Vietnam Airlines Group also increased the operation of international flights between Vietnam and Japan, Korea, Thailand, Singapore..., to meet the trend of people traveling during Tet.

To increase passenger options, Vietnam Airlines continues to arrange more flights in the late evening and early morning. During the 2026 Lunar New Year, the proportion of night flights will account for nearly 20% of the total number of flights. Exploiting this additional time slot helps optimize operational capacity, reduce daytime pressure and create more flexibility for passengers.

Along with increasing capacity, Vietnam Airlines Group has proactively increased human resources and ground services to provide maximum support to customers during peak periods. The airline also affirmed its commitment to ensuring absolute safety, maintaining service quality and bringing a convenient and comfortable experience to passengers. This is not only about providing more tickets but also an effort to ensure that each Tet flight brings a complete and warm journey for customers to reunite with their families./.
