Vietnamese billionaires are getting richer, earning nearly 1 billion USD in just 24 hours

(Dan Tri) - Billionaire Pham Nhat Vuong has nearly 1 billion USD more in just 24 hours, breaking his own record to set a new record with assets of 13.7 billion USD.

The stock trading session on August 26 surprised investors with a strong increase after two sessions of adjustment, down nearly 70 points.

In this recovery session, VN-Index increased by nearly 54 points, to 1,667.63 points. However, liquidity was somewhat cautious with a value of about 40,868 billion VND.

The VN30 large-cap group exploded with all 30 stocks increasing, of which 4 stocks hit the ceiling price including MWG (Mobile World Investment), SSI, VHM (Vinhomes) andSHB (Saigon - Hanoi Bank). Notably, SSI had the largest trading volume in the group, reaching more than 94.3 million units.

VHM shares hit the ceiling price of VND105,200/unit. VIC ( Vingroup ) shares also increased by 3.44% to VND135,500/unit. Both codes are at their highest price in history, helping billionaire Pham Nhat Vuong's assets increase sharply.

After only 24 hours, this billionaire has added nearly 1 billion USD. Mr. Vuong's assets this afternoon, according to Forbes, reached 13.7 billion USD, ranking 195th in the list of the richest people in the world . Mr. Vuong also broke his own record when for the first time his assets nearly reached the threshold of 14 billion USD.

In addition, many other stocks such as HPG, MSN, VJC, HDB also increased sharply, thereby increasing the assets of Vietnamese dollar billionaires. Ms. Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao - Chairwoman of Vietjet Air, Permanent Vice Chairwoman of HDBank - owns assets of 3.7 billion USD, second only to Mr. Vuong.

HPG shares increased by 4.8% with trading volume reaching nearly 52 million units. Billionaire Tran Dinh Long - Chairman of Hoa Phat - added 112 million USD, up to 2.7 billion USD.

Cash flow also favored banking stocks, as many codes increased sharply today. In addition to MSB and SHB, a series of other codes also increased by over 5% such as SSB, MBB, NVB, EIB. Some stocks contributed to the index's increase, such as TCB, ACB, STB, VPB, HDB, EIB, MSB.

During the strong market recovery session, foreign investors net bought more than 928 billion VND. Codes with strong net buying were MSB, VIX, MWG.
