TPO - The Huu Day dike (Quoc Oai district, Hanoi) is seriously eroding, directly affecting the safety of people and vehicles participating in traffic. The Hanoi People's Committee has declared an emergency situation and ordered construction to prevent the dike from eroding.

On November 20, the Hanoi People's Committee announced an emergency situation of landslides on the Right Day dike in Quoc Oai district and issued an order to urgently build works to prevent landslides.

The location of the landslide on the upstream dike of the Right Day dike is in the range from K8+500 ÷ K8+600, K15+480 ÷ K15+600, K18+000 ÷ K18+150 in the areas of Sai Son, Dong Quang and Tan Hoa communes, Quoc Oai district.

The nearly 1km landslide section of the dike poses a potential risk of accidents for people and vehicles, especially at night.

Every day, the Day River dike has thousands of cars and motorbikes passing by, including many heavy-duty vehicles.

The road edge was severely eroded, creating large cracks.

The landslide has swept away many road boundary markers.

The landslide of the upstream slope of the Day right dike, Quoc Oai district has directly affected the stability of the dike and poses a risk of insecurity on the Day right dike, directly affecting the safety of people and vehicles participating in traffic.

Ms. Nguyen Kim Dung (Quoc Oai district) said: "The landslide on the right bank of the Day dike makes people around very worried when walking on the dike. I hope the authorities will resolve the issue soon so that people can travel safely."

Faced with the above situation, the City People's Committee assigned the People's Committee of Quoc Oai district to preside over and coordinate with the Department of Irrigation and Natural Disaster Prevention and Control to immediately delineate the area at risk of dike collapse, regularly update and report on the incident situation and progress of incident handling.

The Hanoi People's Committee also issued an order to build an emergency treatment project to remedy the above situation with an investment cost of about 7 billion VND; construction time to be completed before May 30, 2025.
