Can Tho resolutely implements key projects and works

(Chinhphu.vn) - To ensure the progress and quality of implementation of key projects and works, the Can Tho City Party Committee has established 6 working groups headed by Deputy Secretaries of the City Party Committee to remove obstacles and difficulties for 28 key projects in Can Tho.

On the morning of October 9, the Can Tho City Party Committee held a conference to review and evaluate the progress of key projects, identify bottlenecks in site clearance and investment procedures, and propose solutions to promote disbursement progress, free up resources for socio -economic development, and ensure growth and social security targets.

Representatives of six working groups reported to the City Party Committee on the progress of each project, clearly stating the results achieved, the remaining difficulties and proposing solutions. Each working group worked periodically and directly with enterprises and investors, and at the same time surveyed the site to promptly grasp, classify and handle problems in the spirit of "clear people, clear work, clear progress, clear responsibility".

Removing land clearance obstacles, promoting investment attraction

Reporting at the meeting, the working groups said they had strongly urged progress at many projects, especially projects that lasted for many years such as National Highway 91. Many reasonable and logical solutions were proposed to ensure the rights of people whose land was recovered.

In the coming time, the Steering Committee and working groups will continue to effectively implement important resolutions of the Central and the Government , such as Resolution No. 59-NQ/TW, Resolution No. 45/2022/QH15 and Resolution No. 98/NQ-CP. The city aims to attract capable investors, prioritize projects that employ local workers, have competitive advantages and create high spillover value.

The Can Tho City Party Committee requested to effectively exploit and use existing land funds; promote investment promotion, mobilize social resources and the central budget to upgrade socio-economic infrastructure. In particular, focus on propaganda work, calling for investment in industrial park infrastructure, and promptly handle proposals and recommendations from enterprises. In case of exceeding authority, the Steering Committee will report to the central ministries and branches for timely resolution.

Maintain progress discipline, ensure quality, and disburse effectively

The Steering Committee requires working groups to regularly review and evaluate the progress of each project, and closely coordinate with departments, branches and local authorities in compensation, site clearance and resettlement.

Investors are required to urgently complete acceptance documents and make payments to the State Treasury as soon as the volume is completed; at the same time, ensure progress, quality and compliance with legal regulations.

The city will also adjust and supplement the 2021-2025 medium-term public investment plan and the 2025 plan to avoid disruptions in capital sources. The Department of Finance is assigned to proactively coordinate with investors and advise the City People's Committee to promptly adjust these plans.

City Party Secretary: Resolutely disburse funds to create social consensus

Concluding the conference, Secretary of the Can Tho City Party Committee Le Quang Tung acknowledged the sense of responsibility of the working groups in supervising and urging the implementation of key projects. He requested that in the coming time, the Steering Committee and the group leaders focus on the task of disbursing public investment capital, especially large projects in the area.

The Secretary of the City Party Committee emphasized: The City People's Committee needs to soon complete specific policies and incentive mechanisms to attract investment, especially in industrial parks and export processing zones; effectively exploit existing land funds. Comrades in the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee and the Standing Committee of the City People's Committee must regularly review and remove difficulties, ensuring high unity in direction and administration.

Mr. Le Quang Tung also requested to strengthen policy communication, improve coordination efficiency between Party agencies, the Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations, create consensus in implementing the Party and State's policies and guidelines, especially in compensation, support and resettlement work to serve key projects.
