Coast Guard ready to respond to storm No. 11

Faced with the complicated and unpredictable developments of Storm No. 11 (Matmo), strictly complying with the Directive of the Chief of the Vietnam Coast Guard, all ships and boats of the Command of Coast Guard Region 1 in Hai Phong have left the port and headed to the storm shelter area to ensure safety.

On the morning of October 5, two working delegations of the Coast Guard Region 1 Command led by Major General Tran Van Tho, Region Commander, and Colonel Luong Cao Khai, Deputy Commander, Chief of Staff of the Region, inspected storm prevention work No. 11 at storm shelters and coastal agencies and units.

At 3 locations where ships and boats of the Regional Command took shelter from the storm in the areas of Vung Gianh, Vung Tung Sau, and Van Tai Sau in Quang Ninh province, Major General Tran Van Tho requested the commander of the 11th Fleet to direct ships and boats to continue to do a good job of storm prevention and control, ensuring absolute safety for people and vehicles. The fleet actively and proactively propagated and called on vehicles and fishermen to take shelter from the storm, ensuring safety; well prepared search and rescue plans, ready to mobilize when situations arise and minimize damage caused by storms and winds.

At agencies and units on shore, Colonel Luong Cao Khai and the working delegation inspected plans and plans to mobilize forces, vehicles, command and information systems, equipment, and work to ensure safety in preventing, combating, and overcoming the consequences of storm No. 11.

The Deputy Commander and Chief of Staff of the Region requested agencies and units to strictly maintain the on-duty regime, ensure uninterrupted communication; proactively monitor and grasp the developments of the storm; continue to thoroughly grasp the telegrams and instructions of superiors; organize reviews, adjustments and supplements to plans; provide sufficient equipment and materials for storm and flood prevention, search and rescue, prepare forces and means to respond promptly and effectively when situations arise and ensure safety in all aspects; proactively coordinate closely with local Party committees and authorities in the stationed areas, be ready to help people respond, and minimize damage caused by the storm to the people.
