The golden tree first appeared on Nguyen Hue flower street

With the theme "Spring of love, Tet reunion", Nguyen Hue flower street for the Year of the Dragon 2024 with many new features was launched on the evening of January 23. This is the 21st time Nguyen Hue flower street has been organized in Ho Chi Minh City, directed by the City People's Committee, assigned to Saigontourist Group to coordinate with departments and branches to implement.

Sharing at the press conference, Mr. Nguyen Dong Hoa, Deputy General Director of Saigontourist Group, Deputy Head of the Organizing Committee of Nguyen Hue Flower Street 2024 said that to carry out the Nguyen Hue Flower Street for the Year of the Dragon, the organizing committee had to overcome many difficulties and challenges. The two biggest difficulties were choosing the construction unit and finding sponsors.

Mr. Hoa added that the new feature of Nguyen Hue flower street this year is the dragon mascot at the grand welcome gate (intersection of Nguyen Hue - Le Loi) and the final gate (intersection of Nguyen Hue - Ton Duc Thang) with the mascot length exceeding 100m.

The dragon mascot is environmentally friendly when more than 90% of the manufacturing materials are shaped steel and a system of fan-shaped blinds covering the entire body with fake scales (welcome gate mascot) or a system of LED lights all over the body to create effects (dragon gate).

Another new feature is the golden tree that appears for the first time on the flower street. The golden tree, crafted by artisans, is 1-3.6m tall with names such as Mai Dai Phuc, Mai Rong Viet, Dao Truong Xuan, Dao Phuoc Loc, Bo De Dai Cat, etc.

Nguyen Hue Flower Street Tet 2024 makes a strong impression right from the gate with a pair of spectacularly winding dragon mascots.

In particular, many works on this year's flower street will be retained. The three dragon mascots and two tall golden trees will be transferred by the organizers to businesses and individuals who love and need them after the 2024 flower street ends.

All proceeds from the three dragon mascots and two golden trees will be donated to charity.

In the context of the city promoting digitalization, Nguyen Hue Flower Street 2024 has applied AR (virtual reality) technology with the theme of Dragon Ascension, through the Seensio Go app on smart mobile devices.

The AR application takes photos at three main scenes: the "Luong Long Trieu Lien" welcome gate, the "Thuyen Hoa Xuan" scene and the "Nhat Dai Thang Long" final gate.

AR technology will create images of dancing dragons and colorful, vivid spring flower boats, helping people taking photos and recording videos on the flower street to interact and capture unique images.

AR can be experienced at the three main scenes of the flower street: the "Two dragons facing each other" welcome gate, the "Spring flower boat" scene and the "First Thang Long" final gate.

According to the Organizing Committee, the construction of the flower street will take place from 7am on January 21 to 12pm on February 7. After that, Nguyen Hue flower street will serve the spring travel and sightseeing needs of city residents and tourists from 7pm on February 7 to 9pm on February 14.
