The Provincial Federation of Labor (FFL) currently directly manages 181 grassroots unions and 3 grassroots unions with more than 11,350 union members. Of which, the proportion of female union members accounts for over 60% of the total number of union members. Ms. Be Thi Hoa, Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, Chairwoman of the Provincial Federation of Labor, said: For many years, women's work has always been one of the important contents, contributing to building a strong working class and union organization. Especially in the current context of integration, the role of female workers is increasingly affirmed, not only in production labor, but also in building culture and preserving family values. Therefore, the Provincial Federation of Labor regularly directs trade unions at all levels to, in addition to performing well the role of accompanying and representing and protecting the rights of female workers, pay attention to encouraging their spirit, providing material support, honoring and motivating female union members and creating an environment for female union members to promote their capacity, creativity and self-affirmation.
Accordingly, from the beginning of 2025, trade unions at all levels in the province have implemented specific programs and plans for women's work in accordance with the characteristics of each unit. In particular, they focused on organizing many meaningful activities for female workers. Specifically, on the occasion of March 8 and the International Day of Happiness on March 20, instead of just organizing traditional talks, meetings, and gift giving as every year, many grassroots trade unions have innovated their forms with cultural and sports exchanges, performances of Ao Dai - national costumes, photo contests, etc. with a total of over 1,350 activities, attracting nearly 25,400 union members to participate. The activities have contributed to enriching the spiritual life, helping female union members express themselves, affirming their confidence and dynamism.
In addition, the emulation movement "Good at public work, good at housework", associated with the movement "Building a new era of Lang Son women" and the movement to build a family of "5 no, 3 clean", "5 yes, 3 clean" continues to be effectively maintained by trade unions at all levels. If in 2024, the number of female union members registering to participate in the movement out of the total number of female union members in the whole province is 24,320/25,190 (reaching 96.5%), then in 2025 it is 24,652/25,190 (reaching 97.8%). Through the emulation movement, many female union members have affirmed their capacity, fulfilled their tasks well and have been commended and rewarded by trade unions at all levels.
Ms. Chu Phuong Thao, Head of the Department of Professional Planning and Nursing, Vice President of the Trade Union of Van Lang Regional Medical Center is a typical example. Currently, the Provincial Labor Federation is submitting a proposal for the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor to commend her on the occasion of the preliminary summary of the emulation movement "Good at public work, good at housework". She shared: I consider the union as a support, encouragement and creating conditions for me to learn and improve. Through the emulation movements launched by the unit and the union, I proactively research, innovate working methods, carry out topics and initiatives to improve expertise to improve work efficiency and improve myself both professionally and in caring for and preserving family happiness.
In addition, to ensure the effectiveness of women's work in the province, trade unions at all levels also focus on consolidating and developing the women's trade union committee, paying more attention to trade unions of non-state enterprises. Since the beginning of the year, the whole province has established two new mass women's committees at trade unions of non-state enterprises (achieving the target assigned by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor).
Ms. Dang Quynh Mai, Chairwoman of the Trade Union of Vietnam Star Technology Co., Ltd., Huu Lung Commune, said: Since its establishment (September 2025), the Trade Union has proactively incorporated the content of caring for female workers into the collective labor agreement; monitoring the implementation of maternity regimes, working conditions, safety and welfare for female workers. Especially after the impact of the recent storm No. 11, we are currently coordinating with business owners to review and grasp the situation of female workers, especially female workers who are raising young children and are in difficult circumstances, to promptly come up with support plans.
With the timely encouragement, recognition and support from trade union organizations, on average, every year, 95% of female workers in the province are recognized by trade unions at all levels as having achieved the title of "Good at public work, good at housework". Through this, it is clearly affirmed that the trade union is truly one of the great sources of motivation, helping female workers to be more confident, brave, and fulfill their roles and tasks well, not only in work but also in the role of keeping the fire of family happiness.
