On June 15, the Ho Chi Minh City Military Party Committee held a mid-term review conference to implement the Resolution of the 12th Ho Chi Minh City Military Party Congress, term 2020-2025.

Opening the conference, Secretary of the City Party Committee, Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Military Party Committee Nguyen Van Nen emphasized that the mid-term conference of the Ho Chi Minh City Military Party Committee took place at a time when there were many important events for the general situation of the world and the whole country. Especially in the past few days, there were also some developments related to national defense and security.

According to him, since the beginning of the 2020-2025 term, the Ho Chi Minh City Military Party Committee has faced many issues that need to be resolved. In addition to the 7 specific tasks set out at the 12th Congress of the Ho Chi Minh City Military Party Committee, the practical situation has many emerging issues that require the Ho Chi Minh City military force to get involved, especially in the work of preventing and fighting the Covid-19 epidemic.

He reiterated that in 2021, Ho Chi Minh City will strive to overcome the pandemic, then recover the economy, overcome the consequences, and in 2023, the complicated world situation will have a direct impact on Ho Chi Minh City. In that context, the Party Committee and the Ho Chi Minh City Command have made great efforts, adhered to the assigned tasks, flexibly and creatively carried out the immediate tasks as well as related issues, under the general leadership and direction of the Ministry of National Defense, Military Region 7, the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee and the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee.

“The halfway mark of the term marks an important step for us to review what we have done, what we have not done, the advantages, disadvantages, limitations, weaknesses and causes to propose solutions to complete the tasks and goals set by the 12th Congress of the Ho Chi Minh City Military Party Committee,” Comrade Nguyen Van Nen emphasized.

At the conference, the Party Secretaries of the Military Committees of the districts and Thu Duc City proposed many contents, especially policies on the military rear. Regarding this content, comrade Nguyen Van Nen noted that the Military Committee of Ho Chi Minh City needs to pay more attention to the military rear policy. In addition to the general policy of the city, localities also need to pay specific attention to each case, especially those with difficult circumstances participating in military service.

He analyzed that the military rear policy is not a small matter. If we do a good job of providing a good output for those who have completed their military service, it will be a part of the motivation for young volunteers to join the army. He emphasized that the force of young people who have completed their military service is a high-quality human resource, trained in the army, so there must be a policy to attract this force.

During the past half term, the Party Committee and Command of Ho Chi Minh City have led, directed, deployed, resolutely, synchronously and effectively implemented the Resolution of the 12th Congress of Delegates of the Ho Chi Minh City Military Party Committee.

In particular, the Ho Chi Minh City Military Party Committee has made a breakthrough in improving the effectiveness of staff work and organizing the implementation of local military and defense tasks; promoting the core role in building an all-people national defense, an all-people national defense posture associated with an increasingly solid people's security posture.

In particular, it is necessary to effectively carry out the task of combat readiness and participate in preventing and fighting the Covid-19 epidemic, contributing to maintaining political security, social order and safety, creating a favorable environment for the city to develop its economy, culture and society.

Specifically, the Ho Chi Minh City Military Party Committee mobilized more than 36,000 officers, soldiers, and militia; promptly reported and proposed to the Ministry of National Defense and Military Region 7 to increase forces and means to support the city in preventing and fighting the epidemic reasonably and effectively... The results have contributed to the city's control of the epidemic, and the recovery and development of the socio-economy. Since then, the image and noble qualities of "Uncle Ho's soldiers" have been illuminated and promoted, leaving good feelings in the hearts of the city's people.
