Recognizing Mariamman Temple as a city-level architectural and artistic relic

On the morning of October 1, the Mariamman Temple Management Board (No. 45, Truong Dinh Street, Ben Thanh Ward, Ho Chi Minh City) held a ceremony to receive the decision to recognize the Mariamman Temple as a city-level relic, on the occasion of the 2025 Via Ba Festival.

Attending the reception were representatives of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Ethnic Minorities and Religions; Ho Chi Minh City Department of Culture and Sports ; Ben Thanh Ward People's Committee; Ho Chi Minh City Vietnam - India Friendship Association; Mr. Vipra Pandey, Consul General of the Republic of India in Ho Chi Minh City and many local people.

Mr. Nguyen Dang Khoa, Head of the Mariamman Temple Management Board, highly appreciated the significance of the recognition ceremony on the occasion of the Mariamman Festival in 2025, showing respect for Mariamman, one of the four goddesses included in the Mariamman Festival Week by Hindus according to their annual worship beliefs.

Mariamman Temple being ranked as a city-level monument is a great honor for the community, those who have been working at the Temple for many years and those who have contributed to the establishment and construction of Mariamman Temple since the late 19th century with its unique architecture and art.

On this occasion, the Mariamman Temple Management Board presented the Fund for the Poor to Ben Thanh, Tan Dinh, Saigon and Cau Ong Lanh wards, each ward receiving 100 million VND to take care of policy families and people in difficult circumstances in the area.
