According to the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV), Van Don and Cat Bi International Airports are forecast to be in the area strongly affected by the storm. Noi Bai International Airport, Tho Xuan, Vinh and Dien Bien airports are required to closely monitor weather developments, proactively update information and prepare response plans in case the storm develops abnormally.
To proactively respond to the storm, ensure safety of flights, people and property at airports, and minimize negative impacts on flight operations, the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV) requires agencies and units to be on duty 24/7.
At Van Don International Airport and airports under the Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV) located in the affected area of storm No. 11, the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam requested ACV to preside over and coordinate with relevant agencies and units to inspect the airport infrastructure system, communication system... to promptly detect and handle damages (if any) to ensure the safety of works, stations, and ensure the safety of operations at airports.
At the same time, deploy plans to prevent rain and storms, measures to prevent flooding, clear the flow in airports, protect works, vehicles and equipment at airports, minimize damage caused by rain and storms and quickly stabilize all aviation activities to serve the needs of passengers.
For airports currently under construction (Cat Bi International Airport, Vinh Airport), the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam requires investors to request contractors to immediately deploy storm response work; determine technical stopping points to stop construction according to the storm's developments; prepare conditions to promptly fix construction incidents, ensure safety, and limit damage caused by storms; Arrange 24/24h on-duty, proactively update meteorological information to promptly propose appropriate and safe exploitation plans.
The Department also noted that after the storm weakens and makes landfall, there is a risk of rain after the storm. The Department requested the Vietnam Air Traffic Management Corporation (VATM) to direct aviation meteorological service providers to strengthen the work of ensuring the quality of meteorological information; continuously monitor the weather situation in the area of responsibility, update forecasts and warnings; provide timely and complete monitoring, forecasting and warning information to users.
For airlines and flight safety service providers, the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam requires units to strengthen coordination; closely monitor the developments of storm No. 11 to have plans to adjust flight plans or change flight schedules accordingly and ensure safety for flight operations.
At the same time, fully update meteorological information from relevant aviation meteorological facilities and base on the actual situation to deploy necessary response actions, minimize impacts on operations, ensure flight safety, protect people and property of the unit from natural disasters.
For the Northern Airport Authority, the Authority requests the Airport Authority to supervise the implementation of response measures at relevant airports; ensure smooth communication with the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam's Search and Rescue Command Board and relevant agencies and units within their scope of responsibility to deploy responses in all situations.
