From prejudice to recognition
There was a time when many people thought that private healthcare was simply a “health business”. But reality proves that choosing to invest in the healthcare sector is an arduous journey, requiring large capital, long-term vision and above all, a sense of responsibility to the community. The success of a hospital is not measured by revenue, but by the fate of people saved, by the trust of patients and their families.
Private healthcare, therefore, is not simply a business model. It is a highly social model, placing the community’s interests above all else, creating sustainable value: health for every citizen.
Public - Private: Two lungs of one body
If we consider the Vietnamese health system as a living organism, then public health and private health care are the two lungs. A healthy system cannot operate with only one lung.
- Public health: Is the foundation of social security, with a widespread network, ensuring fairness in access to health services.
- Private healthcare: A driver of innovation, with flexibility in governance, technology application and high-quality service delivery.
The harmonious combination of public and private sectors helps reduce the burden on public hospitals, while expanding people's access to advanced healthcare services. This is also the spirit that Resolution 72-NQ/TW aims for: A healthcare system that is connected, complementary and sustainably developed.
Hong Hung General Hospital - A pioneer model of private healthcare in Tay Ninh
A clear demonstration of the contribution of private healthcare is Hong Hung General Hospital (Tay Ninh). Since its inception in late 2020, Hong Hung has affirmed its position as a pioneer, accompanying public healthcare in improving the quality of healthcare in the locality.

These achievements are proof that private healthcare is becoming a reliable partner, standing side by side with public healthcare in the journey of taking care of people's health.
Towards a sustainable and humane health system
The spirit of innovation from Resolution 72-NQ/TW has added motivation for public and private healthcare to work together to break down barriers and build a new healthcare culture: Putting patients at the center, considering quality and ethics as the absolute highest measure.
The future of Vietnam’s healthcare does not lie in the division between public and private sectors, but in the resonance, where the power of State management and the dynamism of the private sector blend together. That is also the way for us to create a strong, fair and humane healthcare legacy – worthy of the trust and expectations of the whole society.
Thus, from a "rising star" with many challenges, private healthcare is increasingly asserting its pioneering role, alongside public healthcare, contributing to realizing the noble goal: universal healthcare and sharing life./.
