From the beginning of the 8th lunar month, the sound of lion dance drums resounds throughout the streets and alleys, spreading joy to every family. The children participated in many meaningful activities such as: interacting with Uncle Cuoi, Ms. Hang, receiving gifts and cakes from leaders of the Department of Health... On this occasion, 30 disabled students with difficult circumstances of the center received gifts from Vietinbank Hai Duong Industrial Park branch (each gift worth 500,000 VND) and the center was awarded 5 sets of computers to support their learning needs. This is a great spiritual encouragement to help the children continue to strive to overcome difficulties, practice, and become useful people for society.
Pham Duc Anh, a male resident at Hoa Phuong Social Work and Child Protection Center, said: Not only did we get to participate in art performances and lion dances at the center, we also got to perform on the grand stage of the Mid-Autumn Festival program at VSIP Hai Phong Industrial Park. Mobilizing care resources
For children, the Mid-Autumn Festival is always the most anticipated festival of the year, because they get to play, participate in traditional activities such as carrying lanterns, dancing with lions, displaying offerings, and family reunion parties... Therefore, the city's health sector has early implemented a plan to organize the Mid-Autumn Festival for children, while also sending invitations, mobilizing socialization, and increasing resources to give gifts, award scholarships, and sponsor poor children and children in especially difficult circumstances... Recently, at An Hoa Primary School (An Phong Ward), the Department of Health coordinated with the Ward People's Committee to organize a Mid-Autumn Festival program for children with the theme "Mid-Autumn Festival Connecting Love".
This year's Mid-Autumn Festival, the Hai Phong City Children's Fund awarded 345 scholarships and 355 gifts to children in special circumstances and difficult circumstances in the city, with a total budget of 675.5 million VND, from the mobilized and supported funds of the Hai Phong City Children's Fund. The People's Committee of An Phong Ward also awarded 40 gifts to 40 children in difficult circumstances in the ward, each gift worth 500,000 VND.
With the support of businesses, organizations, philanthropists, etc., many children in special circumstances are cared for and supported. Mr. Do Minh Ha, Chairman of Hai Phong Hai Dang Volunteer Club (City Youth Union) said: With the support of many volunteer groups, organizations, and sponsors such as: Hai Phong Children's Community Club, Mid-Autumn Festival Charity Fund in Europe, Hai Phong Charity Porridge Pot Charity Association, Solis Lawyers Australia Vietnam Charity Fund, Hai Phong Hair Association, etc. and the attention and facilitation of Hai Phong Children's Hospital (Department of Health), the club successfully organized a series of activities: giving free porridge, giving "nutritious afternoon meals", free haircuts for sick children and their families, organizing the program "Moon lights up faith - unicorns awaken strength", giving gifts to about 1,000 sick children and cash worth 42 million VND.
According to Deputy Director of Hai Phong City Department of Health Phan Huy Thuc, in order for all children in the city to have a safe and joyful Mid-Autumn Festival, the Department of Health requests the People's Committees of communes, wards and special zones to pay attention to organizing practical, economical, joyful, safe and healthy Mid-Autumn Festival activities and creating useful playgrounds imbued with national cultural identity for children. Mid-Autumn Festival activities can be integrated with health care and nutrition programs for children. For hospitals, medical centers and medical facilities, the Department requires good implementation of medical examination and treatment for children; prioritizing support for children in special circumstances, children with serious illnesses, and long-term treatment; coordinating with localities to guide parents in choosing safe Mid-Autumn Festival foods and candies with clear origins, to avoid food poisoning. Units also need to pay attention to providing spiritual support and organizing appropriate Mid-Autumn Festival activities for hospitalized children, making efforts to bring a joyful and safe season of love and moon.
