Official 'scoring' to evaluate districts in health care

On August 30, Associate Professor, Dr. Tang Chi Thuong, Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health , said that the Department of Health officially launched a set of criteria to assess the level of completion of tasks in health care for people in districts and Thu Duc City. This set of criteria will "score" localities.

According to the leaders of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health, this is a set of evaluation criteria based on the output results in health care for people in the district and Thu Duc City. There are a total of 30 criteria in 8 groups, including: effectiveness in disease prevention and control (4 criteria); effectiveness in implementing community health work (4 criteria); effectiveness in medical and pharmaceutical practice management (5 criteria); effectiveness in population work (2 criteria); attracting people to primary health care at health stations (3 criteria); effectiveness of digital transformation in the health sector (6 criteria); effectiveness of health communication and education (3 criteria); level of people's satisfaction with local health services (3 criteria).

With a score of 100, many criteria are "scored" plus points (the maximum total score for all criteria is 20) and many criteria are "scored" minus points (the total minus point is 20). The assessment result, if scored from 85% or more: excellent completion; from 70 to less than 85%: good completion; from 55 to less than 70%: completed; less than 55%: not completed.

The criteria that districts need to pay attention to are: allowing an epidemic to break out, having a death due to the epidemic, deducting up to 8 points. For illegal medical examination and treatment, illegal cosmetic surgery occurring in the area, the highest deduction is made, a total of 12 points deducted...

According to the plan, from 2023, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health will apply this set of criteria. Every year, based on the annual theme issued by the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, along with the requirements of the health sector, the Department of Health will review and update the scoring scale and announce it in the second quarter of each year.
