Da Nang strengthens the efficiency of management and exploitation of traditional markets

The People's Committee of Da Nang city has just issued an official dispatch on enhancing the effectiveness of management, investment, development and exploitation of traditional markets in the city.

According to the official dispatch, the People's Committees of communes and wards are required to decentralize market management according to Decree 139/2025/ND-CP dated June 12, 2025 of the Government and the guidance of the Ministry of Finance in Official Dispatch 6606/BTC-QLCS dated May 15, 2025.

Localities must receive and inherit the management, business and exploitation of the market from the old unit; rearrange the business model to suit the actual situation, ensure fire prevention and fighting safety, environmental sanitation and urban order.

The People's Committee of Da Nang City assigned the Department of Industry and Trade to coordinate with the People's Committees of wards and communes and functional forces to strengthen inspection and guide traders to list and sell goods at public prices.

At the same time, direct the Danang Market Management and Development Company to develop a service price plan using sales areas invested from state capital, and consult the Department of Finance before submitting it to the City People's Committee for decision.

The City People's Committee also directed the investment and upgrading of Tho Quang fishing port area associated with Tho Quang seafood wholesale market. The Department of Home Affairs was assigned to guide the People's Committees of communes and wards to perform the task of market management, including markets invested from non-budgetary capital. The Department of Finance reviewed and advised on annual budget allocation for investment, upgrading and repairing markets, prioritizing markets serving tourism .

The city police have increased patrols, control, and strictly handled illegal business activities; directed the Fire Prevention and Fighting and Rescue Police Department to guide market management boards to complete fire safety records, especially for markets that have been built for many years but lack construction records.

The City Food Safety Management Board has stepped up food safety inspections at markets, strictly handled violations, and ensured food safety conditions in accordance with regulations.
