On October 19, Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine (HCMC) organized the first Vietnam Ophthalmology Refractive Conference with the participation of many leading experts in the field.

Delegates and leading ophthalmology experts gave many recommendations on children's myopia.
According to experts, in the context of the rapidly increasing burden of refractive errors, especially myopia in children, integrated, safe and sustainable care models are an urgent requirement. At the conference, topics discussed and recommended by experts include myopia control in children, experience in treating children's eyes, binocular vision, dry eye assessment and the application of artificial intelligence (AI) in the diagnosis and management of eye diseases.
On this occasion, the Vietnam Ophthalmology Refractive Club, which gathers many doctors, refractive bachelors, nurses, and refractive technicians, was also established.
Vietnam Optometric Club creates a legitimate professional forum where clinicians, educators , researchers and businesses connect together, promote training standardization, continuous improvement and improve the quality of eye care services for the people.
In the future, the Club will organize scientific activities to exchange experiences in the care and treatment of refractive errors, and organize training courses to improve clinical capacity in the field of ophthalmology.
