The Daily Mail reports that winger Joao Mendes, Ronaldinho's son, has reached an agreement to join Hull City from Burnley - a team playing in the Premier League.
This is considered a milestone in Mendes' career, not a step back, even though in theory he has to move down to play in a lower league.
Joao Mendes is 20 years old and has been trained at famous Brazilian clubs like Flamengo and Cruzeiro. At the age of 18, he joined Barca's youth team.
Spanish media said at that time, Mendes actually did not make an impression on scouts at Camp Nou.
But then Barca president Joan Laporta intervened, suggesting the youth coaching staff accept Mendes as a favour to the club's legend.
Ronaldinho himself also declared: "For the sake of my son, I will often visit Camp Nou." Ronaldinho has always maintained a friendly relationship with Laporta.
However, after only 1 year, Mendes decided to leave Barca. The official reason was not announced, but European media speculated that this young man wanted to try to escape his father's shadow.

At Burnley, Mendes also only played for the youth team and never had a chance to wear the first team shirt. This season Burnley won the right to play in the Premier League, English football fans had hoped to see Ronaldinho's son on the field.
But that didn't happen, Mendes decided to leave again to seek professional opportunities, and he agreed a move to Hull City, a team playing in the First Division, and could meet his playing requirements.
Mendes is 1m81 tall, plays as a winger, and can also play as a full-back. However, his talent is not highly appreciated.
At 20, Mendes is still trying his best to shake off the "son of a legend" label. At the very least, he is trying to prove that he can find a place in top football without relying on his father's connections.
