Grassroots trade unions: A bridge between workers and businesses

With high political determination, in recent times, trade unions at all levels in the province have made efforts to innovate and diversify ways of mobilizing workers and employers to participate in trade unions and achieved many results, contributing to building an increasingly strong trade union organization.

The Provincial Federation of Labor has just decided to establish 4 grassroots unions including: the Land Registration Office (Department of Agriculture and Environment), the Bao Chau Phu Yen Green Energy Company Limited; Tuy Hoa Ward Union and Tuy An Bac Commune Union, bringing the total number of grassroots unions to 676 with more than 57,900 union members.

Deputy Director of the Provincial Land Registration Office, Chairman of the Trade Union of the Land Registration Office Vo Ngoc Hoang shared: "The establishment of the Trade Union not only helps the unit standardize policies but also acts as a bridge to help workers protect their legitimate rights, participate in activities to improve working conditions and receive both spiritual and material support."

According to Chairman of the Provincial Labor Federation Le Van Thanh, the establishment of the grassroots trade union not only contributes to strengthening the union organization, but also creates a forum for union members to be listened to, share, and have their legitimate rights and interests protected, while promoting the spirit of solidarity and cohesion between unit leaders and workers.

Leaders of the Provincial Labor Federation presented the decision to establish the Trade Union of Bao Chau Phu Yen Green Energy Company Limited.

In some areas in the East of Dak Lak , union officials of units have been close to the area, with the policy of proactively approaching established enterprises to accompany and support, and at the same time mobilizing business owners and workers to participate in the union organization. With that determination, at Dong Bac Song Cau Industrial Park (Xuan Loc commune), the Union of Bao Chau Phu Yen Green Energy Co., Ltd. has just been established with 44 union members. Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tuan, Head of Quality Purchasing Department, Chairman of the Company's Union, said: The company's Union will strive to support union members and workers, create solidarity, mobilize union members and workers to actively compete in labor, and successfully complete the tasks assigned by the company.

Mr. Tran Truong Thanh, Chairman of Tuy An Bac Commune Trade Union, said that the trade union is not only an important bridge between employers and employees, but also a pioneer in caring for and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of union members and employees. With its representative role, the trade union will contribute to building a harmonious working environment, serving as a bridge between employees and employers.

Developing union members and establishing new grassroots unions is difficult; retaining union members and promoting the role and responsibility of the trade union organization is even more difficult. To do this well, Chairman of the Provincial Labor Federation Le Van Thanh said that we must not only pay attention to quantity but also to quality. Trade unions at all levels take the effectiveness of performing the task of representing, caring for, and protecting the legitimate and legal rights and interests of union members as the basis for attracting and gathering workers to participate in the trade union organization in a sustainable manner.

“The Executive Board of the Trade Union needs to proactively develop the operating regulations and work programs of the trade union, coordinate with the professional staff to mobilize workers to promote emulation movements for Good Workers and Creative Workers; care for and protect the legitimate rights and interests of union members and workers. This is also a central and consistent task in trade union activities. At the same time, the Executive Board of the Trade Union needs to grasp the thoughts, feelings and aspirations of workers, thereby proposing appropriate policies to motivate workers to complete their assigned tasks well, contributing to building harmonious and progressive labor relations in the enterprise,” said Mr. Thanh.

The establishment of a grassroots trade union organization is expected to become a solid foundation, making an important contribution to improving labor productivity, improving workers' lives and promoting sustainable business development.
