Businesses provide recruitment information to students
Associate Professor, Dr. Huynh Ky Phuong Ha, Vice Rector of the University of Technology, assessed that in the context of increasingly deep international integration and the strong impact of the 4.0 industrial revolution, high-quality human resources are the decisive factor for the sustainable development of society. Today's workers not only need solid professional knowledge but also need to have creative thinking, innovative spirit, entrepreneurial ability and quick adaptation to changes. This is also what businesses are particularly interested in and expect from the young generation - today's students.
Referring to the core mission of universities, Associate Professor - Dr. Pham Dinh Anh Khoi, Director of the Technology Business Incubation Center - University of Science and Technology, said that schools not only teach and research but also have the function of innovation.
At the program, Ms. Le Thanh Truc, Human Resources Director of Asia Shine Joint Stock Company (asiaSHINE) shared the trends of the global and Vietnamese labor market, necessary skills in the future... She said that in the first 6 months of 2025, 87% of global businesses admitted that they are or will face a shortage of skilled human resources. 70% of business leaders believe that the skills gap directly hinders innovation and growth.
In Vietnam, GDP in 2024 will grow by 7.9% compared to 2023, showing that the economy is growing strongly. However, human resources to meet business needs are still limited. Businesses are currently in great need of personnel who understand new technologies, digital skills, and data processing skills.
Regarding income, according to the survey, the average salary in the whole market is about 17.7 million VND/month, an increase of 8.6% compared to 2022. In Ho Chi Minh City alone, new graduates when working often receive a starting salary of 10 to 15 million VND/month.
The main factors that cause employees to leave a company include: 62% because of salary and promotion opportunities, 36% because of direct management, 27% because of company culture and 25% because of lack of work-life balance. Meanwhile, 81% of businesses in Vietnam plan to expand recruitment in 2025. However, 82% still prioritize candidates with 1 to 5 years of experience. This is a big challenge for new graduates.
