This is an activity within a series of practical activities to celebrate the 114th anniversary of International Women's Day (March 8, 1910 - March 8, 2024) and the 1983rd anniversary of the Hai Ba Trung uprising.
The delegation visited and gave gifts to encourage Ms. Ha Thi Hong Nam - a service employee of route 26, Nam Ha Noi Passenger Transport Enterprise (under Hanoi Transport Corporation). Ms. Nam has a particularly difficult family situation as both husband and wife have cancer and their health has declined. Ms. Nam's husband is unable to work and often has to go to the hospital for treatment. Every day, Ms. Nam goes to work, takes care of her husband, and raises two children to go to school. The whole family is still renting a house, making things even more difficult.
Ms. Hoang Kim Ngan, currently working as a kitchen assistant at Nghi Tam Village Tourism Development Company Limited, has cancer and is renting a house. Currently, Ms. Ngan has to both fight the disease and try to work to earn an income to cover her living expenses. In particular, Ms. Ngan also has to take care of her 50-year-old brother who has a mental illness and is unable to work.
When understanding the situation of female workers, Chairman of the City Labor Federation Pham Quang Thanh expressed his sympathy and understanding for the difficulties and hardships that workers are facing and encouraged them to always maintain an optimistic spirit, strive to overcome difficulties, and be strong to fight and defeat the disease.
On this occasion, the Chairman of the Hanoi Labor Federation presented support from the Capital Trade Union to the women (each package includes 3 million VND in cash and a gift in kind). At the same time, he requested the Trade Union of Hanoi Tourism Corporation and the Trade Union of Hanoi Transport Corporation and the grassroots Trade Unions where the workers are working to continue to pay attention, encourage and promptly support so that the workers can work with peace of mind and stabilize their lives.
Receiving the attention of the leaders of the City Labor Federation, Ms. Hoang Kim Ngan emotionally shared that this is the source of motivation to overcome difficulties, feel secure in working and contributing more to agencies, units, businesses as well as trade union organizations.
As for Ms. Nam, who has received many subsidies from the Company's Trade Union and the Hanoi Transport Corporation Trade Union on occasions such as Lunar New Year, Workers' Month..., this time receiving a gift from the City Trade Union made her even more emotional. The gift from the City Labor Federation has helped her ease some of her difficulties and is a source of encouragement and motivation for her to overcome her circumstances. Ms. Nam shared: "I always have a belief and peace of mind because I know that when I am in trouble, the Trade Union is a support and a reliable place to rely on...".
