(NLDO)- According to VTV, Ninh Binh Electricity has cut the cable of Saigontourist Cable Television Company, greatly affecting the interests of people and businesses.

Accordingly, the power unit cut the Ninh Binh-Kim Son optical cable, causing the loss of signals at 5 optical nodes (signal connection points) in Ninh Binh city and 10 nodes in Kim Son, affecting 1,500 customers.
After that, the electricity company continued to cut the Ninh Binh - Ha Nam trunk line, losing signal to 100 customers, and losing the trunk line leased to Mobifone. The incident affected a total of 1,600 customers and Mobifone business customers.
At 10:16, the electricity guard left but declared that they would not allow the cable to be welded. If SCTV welded the cable in the opposite direction, they would come out and cut it again.
VTV believes that Ninh Binh Province Electricity's cutting of SCTV's cable has caused widespread disruption of SCTV's services and greatly affected the interests of people and businesses using SCTV's services; caused property damage, and seriously affected the reputation of VTV and SCTV.
In order to ensure the safety and smoothness of the transmission system of national television channels, especially channels serving political missions, SCTV and VTV have requested the power companies to support and not to impact or interfere with SCTV's cable network in any form. This is to ensure the stability and safety of VTV's national television channel transmission system.
Previously, on February 14, Vietnam Electricity Group (EVN) issued Official Dispatch No. 958 to Power Corporations regarding coordination with cable television units under VTV to manage television cables hanging on electric poles.
EVN requires the Power Corporations to direct their subordinate units to comply with the contract for managing television cables hanging on electric poles signed with VTV cable units. At the same time, closely coordinate with VTV cable units (VTVcab, SCTV) to ensure the safety of television cables hanging on electric poles.
EVN also requested the Power Corporations to closely coordinate with VTV units to promote the production, business and investment activities of the Group and its units; guide and encourage creative solutions and ideas in promoting electricity saving according to Directive No. 20/CT-TTg dated March 8, 2023 of the Prime Minister.
However, Ninh Binh Province Electricity cut SCTV's television cable, not complying with EVN's direction in the spirit of Official Dispatch No. 958.
