Hanoi Youth Palace forgotten on Hanoi's 'golden land'

TPO - Located in a 'golden' location facing 3 streets in the middle of the capital, however, Hanoi Youth Palace is being forgotten, not used, causing waste, and the facilities are gradually deteriorating.

Hanoi Youth Sports and Culture Palace is located in a prime location at the beginning of Tang Bat Ho street (Hai Ba Trung district). This is the place to organize cultural, artistic and sports activities for many generations of young people in the capital.

However, according to the reporter, for many years now, the Hanoi Youth Palace has not been in operation. The buildings in the area are all abandoned, the construction is gradually deteriorating. The surrounding grass is overgrown, and the walkways are littered with garbage.

At the end of 2022, the Hanoi People's Council approved the investment policy for the project to build the Hanoi Youth Sports and Culture Palace, with the overall planning goal of becoming a modern architectural complex with facilities to meet the requirements of organizing political activities, exchanges, major events on culture, sports, arts, and entertainment of the capital's youth with youth across the country and youth from other countries around the world.

The land area for project planning research is nearly 20 thousand square meters, located at 1-3 Tang Bat Ho (Hai Ba Trung), including 3 main functional blocks: cultural and sports service block and executive office (7 floors); youth square block; block for organizing political, sports and cultural events.

Youth Square is the space between two blocks of buildings, on the basement roof, including a garden, trees, a flagpole, a bridge connecting the two blocks, and an outdoor event stage with a capacity of about 3,000 people.

According to the City People's Council, this is a Group A project, with a total estimated investment of about VND998 billion from the city budget. The expected implementation period is from 2022 to 2026. The (expected) investor is the Hanoi City Civil Works Construction Investment Project Management Board.

The walls are peeling and deteriorating over time.

Broken bricks and stones fell everywhere.

Inside the hall is empty and unused.

Locals here said that activities and clubs here have stopped operating for a long time.

Fallen leaves filled the yard and paths.

Many items are degraded.

The need for sports, cultural activities, arts and entertainment of the people of the capital is very large, but the Hanoi Youth Palace is left unused, causing great waste and regret for the people.
