The landslide area is more than 100m long, with wave erosion 7-10m deep.
On October 23, the Da Nang City Border Guard Command said that the unit had coordinated with local authorities and functional forces to mobilize nearly 100 officers, soldiers, and militia to urgently temporarily reinforce the seriously eroded embankment at An Bang beach (Tan Thanh block, Hoi An Tay ward, Da Nang city).
According to records, the landslide area is more than 100 meters long, the sea waves eroded 7-10 meters deep, in some places up to 25-30 meters, threatening many constructions and houses along the coast. Many embankments were broken, the ground was severely eroded, materials and brick walls were washed away into the sea, posing a high risk of insecurity for residents and tourists.

Nearly 100 officers, soldiers and militia urgently temporarily reinforced the collapsed embankment.
To promptly overcome the situation, officers and soldiers of Cua Dai Border Guard Station (Da Nang City Border Guard) coordinated with the People's Committee of Hoi An Tay Ward, the Quang Nam Construction Investment Project Management Board, militia forces of neighboring wards and the construction unit to mobilize two crane trucks, two large-capacity excavators to transport precast concrete blocks and drop them to the vulnerable location. The forces also used geotextiles, sandbags and on-site materials to reinforce and create a temporary embankment to prevent waves from hitting deep into the residential area.
By the afternoon of the same day, more than 50 meters of coastline in the most dangerous area had been temporarily protected, limiting the risk of widespread landslides. Local authorities also put up warning signs, put up ropes and arranged for 24/7 staff on duty at dangerous locations, ensuring the safety of residents and tourists.

The forces used crane trucks and large excavators to transport concrete and sandbags.
On the morning of October 23, a working delegation of Military Region 5 led by Colonel Cao Van Muoi, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Military Region, directly inspected the landslide area at An Bang beach and flooded and vulnerable areas in Da Nang city.
Colonel Cao Van Muoi requested the locality to urgently put up warning signs and barricades in dangerous areas; at the same time, he directed the Da Nang City Military Command and the Border Guard to continue to closely coordinate with local authorities, strictly maintain the 24/7 command, on-duty, and rescue regime, and prepare vehicles, materials, and mobile forces to respond when bad situations occur.
