Speaking at the closing ceremony, comrade Tran Thi My Hanh - Director of the Department of Culture and Sports stated: This year, Nghe An is honored to coordinate with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to organize the Vietnamese Ethnic Culture Day (April 19) in Tan Ky district with many attractive cultural and sports activities of profound political and social significance to concretize the Party and State's guidelines and policies on preserving and promoting the culture of ethnic minorities.

Nghe An province is honored and responsible for inheriting a brilliant culture with invaluable heritages of 6 ethnic groups, including Kinh, Thai, Tho, Mong, Kho Mu and O Du. National cultural values ​​have been converged and crystallized in language, writing, costumes, architecture, folk songs, folk music, folk dance, customs, beliefs, festivals, sports, folk games...

Organizing the Vietnamese Ethnic Culture Day is an opportunity for people of all walks of life to look back and become more deeply aware of preserving and promoting ethnic cultural values, contributing to a healthy cultural environment, improving spiritual and cultural life; becoming a bridge of solidarity, building a rich, civilized and progressive village and homeland.

The 2024 Vietnamese Ethnic Culture Day took place in a bustling atmosphere with many meaningful activities on Tan Ky land, where there is a special national relic of Milestone Km 0 - the starting point of the Truong Son road - the legendary Ho Chi Minh road.

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism coordinated with Nghe An province to organize the opening ceremony of the Mobile Propaganda Contest and large-scale propaganda painting exhibition to celebrate the 65th anniversary of the opening of the Ho Chi Minh Trail.

In addition, the Department of Culture and Sports successfully organized the Ethnic Sports Competition, including 6 events: Stick pushing, tug of war, stilt walking, shuttlecock throwing, crossbow shooting and volleyball, attracting nearly 300 athletes from 11 mountainous districts and towns.

The closing art program of the Ethnic Culture Day included many unique and colorful singing, dancing and music performances of the ethnic groups in the Western Nghe An region performed by artists, actors and artisans from the Provincial Traditional Arts Center and Tan Ky district.

The art program is an opportunity to introduce and honor cultural identity and national pride; educate the tradition of loving the homeland and country; enhance responsibility, create more resources to further promote the cultural beauty of the ethnic groups in Nghe An province, contributing to making culture truly "light the way for the nation".
