The 7th Congress of Thai Nguyen Provincial Journalists Association, term 2024-2029, completed its first session.

(CLO) On the afternoon of November 6, at the Hall of the People's Committee of Thai Nguyen province, the first working session of the 7th Congress of Thai Nguyen Provincial Journalists Association, term 2024-2029, took place.

Attending the Congress were comrade Vu Thi Ha, Head of the Association Work Committee - Vietnam Journalists Association ; comrade Le My Ai Linh, Acting Director of the Center for Journalism and Culture - Vietnam Journalists Association; representing the provincial leadership was comrade Vu Duy Hoang, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department, along with leaders and former leaders of the province's press agencies, leaders of the Thai Nguyen Provincial Journalists Association through the periods and 223 journalist members in the province.

According to the draft report at the Congress, Thai Nguyen province currently has 3 press agencies and 1 media agency; 20 central and sectoral press agencies with representatives and permanent residence in the province; 32 newsletters of departments, branches and sectors. Thai Nguyen press has developed in diverse forms: print, radio, television and electronic newspapers; rich in publications with daily, weekly and monthly newspapers.

Thai Nguyen press agencies always maintain their principles and purposes, performing well their functions as the mouthpiece of the Party and State and as a forum for the people.

Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department Vu Duy Hoang congratulated the Congress.

During the 2019-2024 term, the Thai Nguyen Provincial Journalists Association has innovated its operating methods, with many practical and effective activities contributing to enhancing the role and position of the association.

At the first session, the Congress approved the Review Report of the Association's Executive Committee and the Inspection Report of the Provincial Journalists Association for the 2019-2024 term; discussed and approved the number and structure of personnel and voted to elect the Executive Committee of the Provincial Journalists Association for the 7th term, 2020-2025 term, consisting of 9 people; and elected an Inspection Committee of 3 people.

Speaking at the Congress, Comrade Vu Duy Hoang, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department, acknowledged and commended the outstanding results achieved by the Provincial Journalists Association in the past term. In order for the association to develop further, he requested that journalist members continue to promote the role of revolutionary soldiers on the ideological and cultural front of the province; provide information quickly, promptly, accurately, and orient public opinion to contribute to the good implementation of the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws, hot events, social issues of concern, natural disasters, storms and floods, etc.

"The Association at all levels continues to maintain and effectively organize training programs, update knowledge, improve professional qualifications and revolutionary ethics of journalists. At the same time, do a good job of caring for and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of journalists and members, so that the Journalists Association can truly be a "warm common home" for members and the press in the province," the Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department emphasized.
