The Director of the Dak Lak Department of Education and Training affirmed that candidates whose math exam questions contain errors will be given full marks for the errors.
On the afternoon of June 28, the Dak Lak Department of Education and Training held a press conference to inform about the 2024 high school graduation exam and the math exam error incident on the afternoon of June 27 at a number of testing sites in the province.
According to Mr. Pham Dang Khoa, Director of the Dak Lak Department of Education and Training, on the afternoon of June 27, when distributing the exam papers, some test sites discovered that some of the candidates' exam codes were blurred in some questions, including some test codes that had 1-3 questions blurred. At this time, the invigilator reported to the head of the test site for handling and the heads of the test sites used the backup set of exam papers to send to the candidates and the candidates were compensated for the time spent changing the exam papers.
For some test sites that could not handle the problem in time for candidates to take the test with blurred exam papers, the Department reported to the National Examination Steering Committee and received instructions to review the test sites and candidates who were affected by the blurred exam papers to find a solution. Accordingly, the students will receive the maximum score for the blurred questions to ensure their rights.
“The test has a maximum of 3 errors, each worth 0.2 points. If a candidate makes all the errors, they will be given 0.6 points. According to the survey, there are about a few dozen candidates affected by the unclear test and these candidates were all given full marks for the errors,” Mr. Khoa informed.
According to Mr. Khoa, the cause of the math exam error was a printer problem.
