When Mid-Autumn Festival becomes a community festival.

These days, the old Eastern Dak Lak - Phu Yen region is bustling with the familiar sounds of lion - unicorn - dragon dances. The "thump-thump" sound of lion drums echoes throughout the alleys, signaling the arrival of the Mid-Autumn Festival.

Mid-Autumn Festival here is a community festival - where people organize and create their own joy.

No elaborate stage, no professional stage lights, Mid-Autumn Festival here is a community festival - where people organize and create their own joy. Everywhere there are lion dance teams from the neighborhood, ward, and school. Adults contribute, young people practice dancing, children carry lanterns, the whole neighborhood suddenly turns into a lively stage.

In the Eastern Dak Lak region, the lion dance movement has become a characteristic of the Mid-Autumn Festival. From the beginning of the eighth lunar month, lion dance teams begin practicing in communal house yards, school yards, and vacant lots. When night falls, the normally peaceful streets suddenly become bustling: drum beats resound, cheers spread everywhere. Many roads are temporarily blocked as people rush out to watch the performance, and children run happily after the lion dance troupes.

People and children enjoyed watching the performance.

A member of the lion dance team shared: "We have been practicing for nearly a month. The members are union members and students, and everyone considers lion dance a joy. Lion dance is not just a performance, but an art, strong, soulful and requires cohesion among the members."

Watching many lion dance teams perform, young Le Quoc Minh realized: "Each team has its own song, its own spirit. To dance lion dance beautifully, you must understand the soul - the strong, resilient spirit of the people here."

Not only locals, but also tourists from afar were caught up in the bustling atmosphere. Mr. Nguyen Phuoc Hau, a tourist from Ho Chi Minh City, excitedly said: "I came to Dak Lak for the first time during the Mid-Autumn Festival and was really surprised. Here, the lion dance is not a commercial performance but a common joy for the whole community. The sound of the lion drums echoes throughout the streets and small villages... making the atmosphere very special."
