Ensuring security and safety in tourism activities

After putting into operation 2 expressways and many events of the National Tourism Year 2023 " Binh Thuan - Green Convergence" were organized, it contributed to attracting more than 4.46 million tourists to the province, an increase of nearly 90% over the same period last year. This is a good sign for tourism in the province. However, the increase in tourists to Binh Thuan has also revealed the limitations of the tourism industry such as: the situation of over-weighting, under-selling, environmental pollution, tourists drowning at public beaches... still happening. This has affected the image of Binh Thuan in the hearts of tourists.

To ensure security and safety in tourism activities, achieving the goal of building Binh Thuan as a Safe - Friendly - Quality destination, recently, the Provincial People's Committee has issued a Plan to implement the Project to ensure security and safety in tourism activities in Binh Thuan province in 2023. The purpose of the plan is to focus on promoting the combined strength of the whole society, with the core and active participation of all levels, sectors and localities to ensure security and safety in tourism activities. Improve the effectiveness of state management of security and order in the tourism sector, strengthen close coordination between departments, sectors and localities to well solve the task of protecting national security, social order and safety, associated with tourism development in the National Tourism Year 2023 "Binh Thuan - Green Convergence" organized by the province. Proactively prevent, detect, combat, stop, and neutralize plots and activities of hostile and reactionary forces, all types of crimes and illegal acts, maintain social order and safety, create a healthy and safe environment, and contribute to sustainable tourism development.

Build and innovate information and propaganda activities, raise social awareness of the position and role of tourism, create favorable conditions and ensure the environment for sustainable tourism development, build a friendly culture of behavior among people and tourists; effectively ensure security and order, food safety and hygiene, environmental sanitation, prevent commercial fraud, strictly handle acts that negatively affect the landscape and tourism environment; create positive changes in awareness and actions in the community about preserving cultural beauty and promoting the identity value of Binh Thuan.

The Provincial People's Committee also assigned relevant functional agencies to review and complete the system of policies and laws in the tourism sector in the direction of both creating favorable conditions to attract investment and foreign visitors to Binh Thuan, and contributing to closing "gaps", not allowing hostile, reactionary forces and criminals to take advantage of tourism activities to violate national security and social order and safety. Managing tourism activities to take place safely and smoothly, without dangerous incidents that threaten the lives, health and property of tourists, organizations and individuals doing tourism business, and without negatively affecting the natural and social environment and the community in the tourist area...

Relevant functional sectors and localities must develop specific plans, ensure absolute security and safety, and prepare to respond to bad situations that may occur to tourists and people in organizing activities in response to the National Tourism Year 2023. Strengthen patrols and controls on road and sea routes, detect and strictly handle violations of traffic safety and order, prevent congestion that affects travel activities on tourist routes and destinations; organize the fight against criminal, economic crimes, commercial fraud, and social evils on tourist routes and areas; promptly prevent and handle violations of the law that may affect the safety of life and property of tourists.
