Yen Lap Commune Party Committee promotes leadership role, creating foundation for sustainable development

After being officially established on July 1, 2025 on the basis of merging Yen Lap town and three communes of Dong Thinh, Hung Long, Dong Lac, Yen Lap commune entered a new development stage with a large area, large population, requiring higher requirements in leadership, management and socio-economic development. Faced with that challenge, the Yen Lap commune Party Committee has clearly demonstrated its central role in directing, orienting and organizing the implementation of local socio-economic development tasks in a comprehensive and effective manner.

With a proactive and innovative spirit, the Commune Party Committee has focused on building an action program suitable to the new situation, clearly identifying breakthroughs and key areas, prioritizing infrastructure development, commodity agriculture, industry - handicrafts and services. Political and ideological work is focused on, creating unity within the Party and consensus in society.

The study, understanding and implementation of resolutions and directives from superiors are carried out seriously, flexibly and closely following reality. Mass mobilization work goes into depth, promoting the supervisory and critical role of the people in Party and government building. Dialogue activities between leaders and people are maintained, helping to resolve many difficulties at the grassroots level.

Before the merger, localities in the region had formed a relatively comprehensive development foundation, in which the orientations suitable to the characteristics of the midland and mountainous regions stood out. Agriculture continued to be an important pillar. The locality gradually transformed the crop structure towards commodities, applying new high-yield varieties such as JO2, Thien Uu 8, Huong Thom No. 1 on an average planting area of ​​1,550 hectares/year, with a rice yield of 58.02 quintals/ha. Besides rice, the expansion of specialty fruit growing areas such as oranges, grapefruits, and red-fleshed dragon fruit is bringing about clear economic efficiency. The total area is currently about 279 hectares, initially forming a concentrated production area associated with product consumption. Forest development and forestry economy are the strengths of the locality with more than 1,220 hectares of well-managed concentrated planted forests, maintaining a stable coverage rate. Some medicinal plant growing models have been formed, promising to be a suitable direction in developing ecological agriculture, creating sustainable livelihoods. OCOP products are a bright spot in building local agricultural product brands. Currently, the locality has 6 products with 3 stars or more, including 1 product with 4 stars, which is rose honey, demonstrating the potential to upgrade and expand the market when properly invested.

Garment Factory No. 6, Song Hong Garment Joint Stock Company, Yen Lap Commune creates jobs for hundreds of local workers, contributing to sustainable poverty reduction.

Industry and handicrafts continue to assert their driving role. The town's industrial cluster has been invested in phase 5 infrastructure. Up to now, the total investment area for the construction of industrial clusters has reached 30.2 hectares, with 11 enterprises and factories operating stably, creating jobs for over 1,350 workers, with an average income of over 7.5-8 million VND/person/month. At Hung Long industrial site, the locality has attracted 1 investor who is implementing a project with a total registered capital of 499 billion VND, which is expected to create jobs for about 3,500 workers when put into operation. This is an important condition for shifting labor from the agricultural sector to the manufacturing - service sector, creating a fundamental change in the rural labor structure. Along with that, traditional industries such as tea processing, plantation timber, mechanics, construction materials... are still maintained and supported for development with 285 operating establishments, contributing significantly to local employment. The financial and credit sectors continue to play a supporting role for local economic development. Preferential tax and credit policies are implemented synchronously, effectively supporting post-pandemic production recovery and encouraging start-ups. Trade and service activities continue to develop steadily. The whole area currently has 1,190 business households, an increase of 157 households compared to 2020. The system of markets, mini supermarkets, and service establishments has been invested in and renovated to meet people's consumption needs. Transportation, banking, and telecommunications services have developed quite rapidly, contributing to the modernization of commercial activities in rural areas.

Economic and social infrastructure has received synchronous investment. Many key projects have been completed, gradually improving the appearance of the countryside in a civilized and modern direction. The work of reviewing and adjusting the planning of ineffective projects has been promoted, opening up space to attract new investors. Currently, in the commune, there are 105 enterprises and 17 cooperatives operating with a total registered capital of over 5,400 million VND, including 3 foreign-invested enterprises. The private economic sector and households continue to develop strongly, creating jobs for more than 1,000 workers, with an average income of over 7.5 million VND/month.

Comrade Nguyen Thi Phuong Hanh - Provincial Party Committee member, Party Secretary of Yen Lap commune emphasized: "In the coming time, the Commune Party Committee will continue to focus on developing agricultural economy in the direction of goods, expanding the value chain, improving the competitiveness of local products. Along with that, administrative reform and creating an open investment environment will be promoted to attract businesses, develop the private economy, collective economy, gradually building Yen Lap into a dynamic economic - administrative center of the region". On the basis of unification, with the right orientation, strong leadership and solidarity in the entire political system, Yen Lap Commune Party Committee is gradually creating a foundation for comprehensive and sustainable development, meeting the requirements of the new period. Not only is it a new administrative center, Yen Lap is gradually affirming its role as a driving force for development of the region and a bright spot in the innovation process at the commune level today.
