Mulberries in harvest season, ripe red in the suburbs of Hanoi

TPO - Every April, when mulberries are ripe, farmers in the suburbs of Hanoi are busy clearing their gardens for harvest. This year, the price of mulberries at the garden ranges from 15,000 VND to 20,000 VND/kg depending on the quality and appearance of the fruit.

In early summer, mulberries are ripe in all communes of Hiep Thuan (Phuc Tho district) and Song Phuong (Dan Phuong district). When the mulberries gradually turn yellow and ripe red, it is also the time for gardeners to start harvesting.

Farmers are busy cleaning their gardens and pruning leaves to prepare for the arrival of buyers.

The quality of strawberries depends a lot on the weather. If it's hot and sunny, the strawberries are sweeter, and if it rains, the strawberries are blander.

Ripe mulberries need to be harvested quickly, otherwise they will overripe and fall. Garden owners have to increase their workforce, working hard every day to harvest the mulberries.

To prepare the goods for the traders who come to the garden to buy, the nearly ripe fruits will be harvested by farmers so that they will not be damaged during transportation and can be preserved for a longer time.

The price at the garden for traders ranges from 15,000 VND to 20,000 VND/kg depending on the type.

From the suburbs of Hanoi, mulberries are transported to the South for sale and exported to markets outside the center of Hanoi. The retail price of mulberries at markets in the capital ranges from 30,000 VND - 50,000 VND/kg.
