With many scenic spots dating back thousands of years, the "boot-shaped country" Italy is the country holding the most world heritage sites recognized by the United Nations Educational , Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).

In 2021, Italy took the title when the 14th-century frescoes in Padua became the country's 58th World Heritage Site, surpassing China's 56. The area consists of eight religious and secular complexes located within the historic city of Padua, which houses a selection of frescoes painted between 1302 and 1397, including Giotto's Scrovegni Chapel - a masterpiece in the history of painting in Italy and Europe in the 14th century.

One of the iconic heritages of Italy is the Leaning Tower of Pisa located in Piazza dei Miracoli, Central Pisa, Northwest of the country. This is one of four important structures including a church, chapel and cemetery recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site in 1987.

The Leaning Tower of Pisa is 567m high and circular in shape, the body of the tower gradually narrows from bottom to top, consisting of 6 floors in the middle designed exactly the same. The base of the tower has a diameter of about 196m, the top has a diameter of 127m, the total weight of the tower is up to 14,000 tons. Apart from a few pillars made of diamond stone, all the remaining architecture is made of quartz stone.

The Leaning Tower of Pisa was vertical when it was first built, but when the third floor was completed, it was discovered that the foundation was shallow and the tower began to lean. To avoid the risk of collapse, the Tower of Pisa is currently being preserved in its entirety. Authorities had to use 830 tons of lead to support the north side of the tower, in addition to a system of steel braces surrounding the tower.
