On September 27, leaders of Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee met and had a dialogue with businesses operating in the import-export industry at Le Thanh International Border Gate Economic Zone.
At the dialogue, many businesses made recommendations to support the development of border economic zones. According to businesses, currently, vehicles from Vietnam entering Cambodia through the border gate must have a transit permit, but the quota of these permits has been exhausted.
Therefore, to support trade, businesses propose that Gia Lai provincial authorities work with authorities of Cambodian border provinces to allow vehicles to cross the border during the day.
In addition, to support import and export activities, businesses propose to simplify customs procedures for vehicles entering and exiting at the border; exempting physical inspection of goods such as fresh fruits in transit during customs procedures at border gates.

According to Mr. Nguyen Tu Cong Hoang - Vice Chairman of Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee, currently import-export enterprises operating at border gates still face many barriers and difficulties in accessing capital, premises, technology, markets, etc.
Besides, due to overlapping policies, cumbersome procedures, and rigid management, it does not really serve businesses.

Prioritize investment in inspection yards, bonded warehouses, cold storage, specialized inspection systems; connect border gate infrastructure with major traffic routes, especially the upcoming Pleiku - Quy Nhon expressway. Request to quickly resolve customs clearance procedures for goods during the peak agricultural season.
According to the Gia Lai Provincial Economic Zone Management Board, Le Thanh International Border Gate Economic Zone has attracted 37 investment projects, with a total registered capital of nearly 644 billion VND, of which 319 billion VND has been implemented.
Since the beginning of 2025, the import-export turnover through the border gate has reached 155 million USD. Of which, the import turnover reached 92 million USD and the export turnover reached 63 million USD.
